About this deal

A note on this though – it requires 9 full turns to unscrew the cap to its limits, and the first few times you do this, it may be quite tough. It is powered by a 3500 mAh 18650 Li-ion battery included (or alternatively by 2 CR123 / RCR123 batteries) with a maximum autonomy of up to 800 hours, and is rechargeable via the USB-C connector. Nitecore HC68 features ATR technology (advanced temperature regulation) which adjusts the light output according to the working conditions and the external environment to maintain optimum performance in safety.

Includes: Nitecore NL1835HP 18650 3500mAh li-ion battery, spare o-ring, USB-C charging cable, headband, bracket. hours, so I’m quite impressed with the accuracy on that for 100% spot, and even happier that it ran for longer on flood. With a 180° adjustable mount, the headlamp can be angled as appropriate and the breathable headband and rubber pad provide support and comfort. When worn in the normal way on a headband – that is with these plus/minus e-switches on the TOP, the “tail” switch is on the right-hand side of the light. Nitecore HC68 has 5 levels of depth white light (Spotlight) and 5 levels of alluvial white light (Floodlight), 2 special levels (Beacon and SOS) and 3 levels of auxiliary red light.A built-in battery voltage indicator under the button will display battery voltage each time the battery is installed and the end cap is tightened. Very long threads, so unscrewing the tailcap or revealing the charging port takes a lot of twisting. Additionally, the Nitecore HC68 features Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR), memory function and a built-in power indicator. Note that Zebralights are seemingly no longer available, at least in my region, the above are the best that I could find that are not absurdly expensive AND still available.

Two types of white light (which can burst up to 2000lm) and red light can be used in different scenarios. The NITECORE HC65 UHE Ultra High Triple Output Metal Headlamp features an 8-core ultra high efficiency UHE LED that shines up to 2,000 lumens. Interestingly this actually seems to be the only way to get to “ultra-ultralow” (or “ultralow of both emitters at the same time”).An interesting note – the same power is being delivered for both flood and spot emitters, and is changed smoothly – almost no change in current was detected when ramping between flood and spot. I also measured the temperature of the flashlight body with the thermal camera in Higher Spotlight mode after 5 minutes from switching on. We welcome trip reports, photographs of caves, gear reviews, questions about caving, and cave science. Pay close attention to the differences with regards to the highest mode in the spotlight mode (above): the hotspot is less intense but the tree on the right is better highlighted.

Got it for cave exploration and it has quickly become my "go to" flashlightBest headlamp I've ever owned. The indicator beneath the button will slowly flash while charging is in progress, and turn solid once charging is complete after approximately 3 hours when charging a 3500 mAh battery with a 2 A / 5 V power source. For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. The HC68 headlamp comes with a 3500mAh high capacity 18650 battery that supports an exceptional 800 hours of runtime on ultra low. stars – if you’re not fussed by cool white, then this is an amazing headlamp that has great versatility for a range of situations. With the 2 main white light LEDs we have 5 levels with depth beam, 5 levels with wide beam flood beam and 2 special levels (Beacon and SOS). Red light preserves your night vision and is good for wildlife observation, astronomy and night photography. HC68 is super easy to use with its large power switch and top side stepless focus adjustment buttons.

These threads are fairly fine and quite long (it takes a lot of twisting to remove this tailcap), but because they’re anodized (and lubed), they’re very smooth. The UI seems far more complicated in writing than it is in use, though – after a short time with the light, it’s very intuitive. There’s three switches on the HC68 – one on the side (power), and two on top for adjusting the brightness/spot/flood/cycling through aux modes. As such you can set up your favourite light profile and also save it to make sure the HC68 will save the mode last used. NITECORE HA13 Multipurpose Dual Beam AAA Headlamp can provide a max output of 350 lumens and a max throw of 120 meters with a weight of 100g (3. The data may vary slightly in real world use depending on battery type, individual usage habits and environmental factors. Other tests were carried out by putting the Nitecore HC68 in Higher, High and Mid mode using the depth LED (Spotlight).
