The Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic XL Full-Tower stands slightly raised atop rubberised steel feet, meaning that cool air is able to enter the case through the dust filter in the bottom. On the side behind the front, on the lid and on the bottom there may be up to three 120s, on the roof and on the bottom there can be two 140s instead of three 120s should you prefer.

These fans are rated for 1900RPM and provide a lot more cooling than we’d normally run in a case test, but it’s also the configuration we’d personally use, so we wanted to try it. Even better, the enlarged rear compartment provides ample space for cable management, and the inclusion of three dual-layered clips means you can create the cleanest cable runs. For the vertical installation of a second graphics card a second riser cable is required, which is also available from Lian Li (GELI-822). When it comes to installing AiO- or custom water cooling, the case has got you covered – up to three 360 mm radiators can be installed simultaneously: one in the roof, one in the bottom and one next to the motherboard.Clearly, the partnership with Der B8uer is paying off as Lian Li has now released the O11 Dynamic XL we are reviewing today. Even the huge SSI EEB motherboard ROG Dominus Extreme from Asus can be installed with the help of an optional expansion rail from Lian Li.

Now that we’ve established a standardized fan test for our cases, we can run that and treat it as the baseline, which is what we did--but that also means we were forced to do 2x140mm bottom intake and 1x120mm rear exhaust, since there are no front panel mounts and the 140mm fans wouldn’t mount anywhere else except the top of the case. Be careful with these two in particular: the parts themselves aren’t fragile, but once they’re screwed onto the chassis it’s easy to lever the tabs back too far and break them permanently.For the installation of AiO or custom water cooling, the case offers the possibility to accommodate up to three 360 mm radiators simultaneously: one in the lid, one on the bottom and one next to the mainboard. It’s important to remember that this configuration doesn’t favor the CPU, and that we were forced to test that way because the fans we have to use for this test won’t fit in the side mounts where we’d prefer them. Cable management is yet to improve; a BeQuiet 12VHPWR - adapter is purchased and will hopefully arrive soon to clean up the mess and replace Gigabytes adapter.
