About this deal

It is more important than ever that industrial employers understand their legal responsibility to make sure their technicians are competent to carry out their tasks. The version in force when the law came into effect was the 16th edition, BS 7671:2001, as amended in 2002 and 2004 Amendment 2 (change of phase colours) . The technical storage or access is strictly necessary for the legitimate purpose of enabling the use of a specific service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user, or for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network.

On completion of this 18th Edition online course, you will be able to print a certificate to demonstrate you have completed the learning. We understand that some of the courses can be difficult to pay all at once, therefore, on our longer courses you can Pay As You Train, which means you pay week by week interest-free. The committee takes on board information from international committees and UK specific requirements, to ensure consistency and improve safety throughout the UK electrical industry. The 2 day course is best suited for those candidates that are experienced electricians or those that have previously completed the 18 th Edition BS 7671 2018.

Whilst the course is primarily aimed at experienced electricians, it will also be of benefit to allied trades as well as trade related professionals including contract managers, installation designers, consultants, specifiers and surveyors. They guide electricians and persons working in the industry, protect consumers, and help prevent accidents, fires, and other hazards associated with electrical installations. The 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations refers to the 18th edition of the British Standard BS 7671:2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations. In general, BS 7671 applies to circuits supplied at nominal voltages (U 0) up to and including 1000 volts AC or 1500 volts DC. The first edition was published in 1882 as the "Rules and Regulations for the Prevention of Fire Risks arising from Electric Lighting. An 18th Edition Wiring Regulations refresher course is also available for those who have previously completed a 17th Edition IET Wiring Regulations course. The design of new electrical installations must comply to the 18th Edition from the 1st January 2019 and from this date scheme providers will be assessing all members to 18th Edition standards, there is likely to be a 6 month grace period for members to gain the qualification but ultimately you will want to get qualified by 1st July 2019. But a protected escape route is designed by a suitably skilled fire engineer or architect to last longer than a standard corridor. The course is delivered over 2 weekends (either 2 consecutive Saturdays or 2 Sundays), between 9 AM and 4 PM. After completing the enrollment process, you will receive instant access to the online course material.
