About this deal

The Japanese audio track on this set is tinny and thin, probably because it's a very old recording made using old technology. It would have been great for people who wanted to relive that Toonami nostalgia but useless for almost everyone else.

Satan provides initial seating for him and the other Z-Fighters and another is redubbed with Kyle Hebert replacing Dameon Clarke's voice double from the original. One of young Goku's lines originally performed by Ceyli Delgadillo during Chi-Chi's flashback in " Gohan's First Date" was redubbed by Stephanie Nadolny, though the latter still did most of his dialogue even in the original dub. The 30th Anniversary Steelbooks are currently the best option for collecting the series, unless you want to pay a fortune for the Dragon Boxes. A reason for this may be that FUNimation just created that side to show the audience how the prints did somewhat look alike. I have learned that the 16:9 have a bit more detail at the sides, which is a little weird, but I’ll take it.

Also, the filter on Great Ape Goku's roars was removed and is now heard as it was originally recorded. The problem is that they only have to release the show with decent-looking footage once, and they want to be able to hold that carrot-on-a-stick over fans' heads until the sun blows up.

Known simply as 'Grav' by the anime community, his interests are flexible as he is generally not that bothered by what he watches, whether it's a top-tier series or an enjoyable isekai harem trash type. Incredible how they manage to avoid doing a perfect remaster that respects the aspect ratio, the details, the story etc. Some of the grunts are the original lines and in episode 69's recap, the original dub lines for edited episode 54 can be heard. Eventually, Funimation came back with cropped 16:9 remastered versions for Blu-ray which were reportedly better than the Orange Brick DVDs but not the version that many fans had wanted. This results in minor (roughly about 20%) picture loss on the top and bottom, a few times resulting in awkward framing. The release is on 4:3 aspect ratio and only includes the Japanese score, which is only in mono sound, not stereo. English track with revised dialog based on the FUNimation dub, with FUNimation dub music (Dolby Digital 2.
