About this deal

Like the UX above, Hisense is still working out the exact details, so some design elements shown here might not be available in all regions.

This pre-owned or refurbished product has been professionally inspected and tested to work and look like new. Update 02/25/2021: We retested HDR peak brightness after measuring the HDR peak brightness in Game mode. Pre-Owned Certified: Electronics products are inspected, cleaned and (if applicable) repaired to excellent functional standards. Obviously spending more will get you better picture and (especially) sound performance – but then if you want a 50-inch 4K HDR TV from any other brand, you’ll be spending plenty more anyway.

We’ve seen plenty of Hisense TVs in the UK, but this is the first one to feature the Roku TV operating system, found on Roku-made streamers and a smattering of TVs in various territories. The remote control has a slightly bulbous shape, but the buttons are well spaced out and responsive, and in addition to the usual numeric keys and volume, playback, and channel navigation buttons there are dedicated buttons for Netflix, Google Play, Rakuten TV, Spotify, and the FreeView Play catch-up service. Enjoy every detail in stunning 4K HDR offering 4x more pixels than Full HD, whilst DTS Studio Sound delivers the ultimate audio experience with enhanced bass and clearer vocals. It’s also found on affordable sets like this one, meaning you don’t have to suffer bugs or messy interfaces just because you couldn’t afford a high-end OLED TV.

It also has wider viewing angles, better reflection handling, and it has a bunch of gaming features like VRR support.Low-res content looks soft, indistinct and smeary – and that’s before there’s been any on-screen movement. It's one of the few options in Hisense's lineup that comes with Roku TV instead of the Android TV found on most of their models. Like the Hisense H6510G, the Hisense R6090G has an okay color gamut, but it's not considered a wide color gamut for HDR content.

If you are tempted to put it on the wall, mind you, be aware of the A7200GTUK’s woefully unfashionable 85mm depth. It's noticeable in real content with any full-sized image or videos where there isn't a lot of movement. An extension lead does not always supply the TV with sufficient power, so the TV may not be able to turn on fully if connected this way.It uses the same quantum dot technology, which means it displays a wide range of colors and has remarkable pre-calibration accuracy, so you won't have to get it calibrated to get accurate colors. Despite its low cost, the Hisense Roku TV comes with a 4K panel, as many cheap TVs do these days, although if you’re going to be watching anything in HD resolution it can handle that just fine. Really, the best you can hope for is a bit of discretion – and, happily, that’s just what Hisense has delivered. You lose image accuracy when viewing from the side, so it's not ideal for a wide seating arrangement.

It doesn't support HDR10+ like the more expensive models, but it does have Dolby Vision, which is more widespread. Catch up on your favourite shows from the last 7 days with Freeview Play on BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5 and UKTV Play whenever you like, or pause and rewind live TV with no boxes and no monthly fees. Faster motion isn’t as problematic, though, and in every circumstance the A7200G draws smooth, well-defined edges and is capable of generating decent depth of field.More than a Smart TV, stream 150,000+ movies and TV episodes across a range of apps such as Netflix, Now TV, BT Sport, Apple TV, Spotify, The Roku Channel and Freeview Play.
