About this deal

Like Fake Law by The Secret Barrister (this was my Book of the Year in 2020 and you can read my review of it here) , it is one of those books I have been talking about to my friends when I am trying to find ways to illustrate things I feel very strongly without perhaps having the best words or the authority to persuade them myself. Learn nine essential ways to detox your mindset, feel lighter and more energised, to live a happier and more fulfilling life.

Dunt notes that when the House of Commons was prevented from meeting in person by the COVID-19 lockdown rules, it met, and voted, on-line. What follows is a series of detailed chapters each devoted to a key component of the political system.

Listen in as she takes six different people on a career change journey to help them figure out what work they would really love to do and create a plan of how to make that career change happen. There follows an “Interlude” in which he discusses the British withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, slower and less organized than that of other countries, as a “case study in incompetence” under Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab. Some clients simply got lost in the system because payment by results was not conducive to careful record-keeping across different agencies.

Deconstructing the processes and culture of the badly broken British political system in clear and accessible prose, the author of How to Be a Liberal reveals how we have got to this low point and how to start dragging Westminster out of the mire.

There are also lovely accounts of some problems such as the I'm practicalities of Downing Street as a modern workplace. I was particularly impressed with the choice by the author to choose the latter route, since it seemed to be an ideal way to highlight the main problems with the system. But, as I am also a pessimist, I worried that none of these ideas would ever see the light of day because no government would willingly give up the extraordinary amount of control that our present system delivers into their power-hungry fingers. A resolve to be a giant among men, to conquer, plunder and seize the greatness that he thinks is his right.

But the clarification of Westminster process, especially how things changed during the Brexit years and lockdowns, is invaluable. Such powers are rare in most other countries: in coalitions, ministerial appointments are normally part of coalition agreements.Main Hi Kahaani Hoon”, an Audible Original is a weekly storytelling show of 20 episode from Audible, written-created-performed by Major Akhill Pratap; an ex-Army Officer popularly known as The Soldier and The Storyteller.
