The Nintendo 2DS is a complete redesign of the handheld which was released on October 12, 2013, and is described as an "entry level" version of the 3DS. Like the original 3DS, the New Nintendo 3DS also has a larger variant, the New Nintendo 3DS XL, [b] [11] released in all three regions.
