About this deal

It was released on 8 May 1970 by the band’s Apple Records label shortly after the group announced their break-up.

The Super Deluxe collections also feature 27 previously unreleased session recordings, a four-track ‘Let It B’e EP, and the never before released 14-track ‘Get Back’ stereo LP mix compiled by engineer Glyn Johns in May 1969. Get Back was ultimately assembled under the title of Let It Be by the American producer Phil Spector in early 1970. The former was issued as a single in March 1970, and like all the album’s recording to this point, was produced by George Martin. By the way, the “IAM” in the triangle stands for the International Association of Machinists Union whose workers ran the pressing plant). The Beatles iconic final studio album being released to coincide with the worldwide release of Peter Jackson’s 3 part documentary ‘The Beatles: Get Back’.

There is further weakening to the inner parts of the box, some creasing and small tears where the book sits in the recess, but this is the norm for this design of box and copies that have not shown any age distressing are almost mythical and very rarely seen these days. The vinyl is in EXCELLENT condition, great stereo sound, occasional background noise in places but still sounds great. The ‘Let It Be’ album has been newly mixed by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell in stereo. This entry was posted in Apple Records, Beatles, Beatles Collecting, Beatles Music and tagged Apple Records, Beatles, Bell Sound, fake, Let It Be, Let It Be Variations, Let It Be versions, red Apple by beatlesblogger. I believe it is a legit pressing as everything I have found online to identify true pressings notes it as such, BUT it is missing the "Phil + Ronnie" etching. The USA pressing went one stage further with this colour change as the labels had a red apple full and sliced. maybe it was seen through rose tinted glasses when I was teen but looking at it now it really is shameful pap. Not particularly valued on release, it has gained traction over the years most likely when listeners realised the sort of music the four members would make solo. I have had in the collection for some time now a record that I thought was an original US pressing of the Beatles Let It Be. It was initially released as a box set, with a 168-page book titled "Get Back", containing stills and dialogue from the film.
