About this deal

This is very useful, but it also means that I kind of want to blow my budget on all the cleansers and serums she is recommending.

I mean genuinely, she just sits there with a massive mug of tea and natters away at you as if she were your best friend. I haven't read the author's blog, but of course, the material in the book would be similar unless the author has changed her opinion about something. Her no-nonsense style, focusing on understanding and layering ingredients, makes you feel like better skin is achievable. With over 100 million views of her blog and over 13 million views of her YouTube videos, she cuts out the jargon, tells you what you do and don’t need, and is finally going to get the nation off face wipes for good!

It doesn't give any magical formula for the "perfect skin" and it repeats a lot some advices along the pages. Also, unlike the essential oils, it is probably reasonable to believe that you’re not actively doing your skin any harms.

So step in Caroline Hirons she is an established industry expert and facialist and she seems to know what works and doesn’t. She is an amazing woman, and her book is just as I find her: knowledgeable, straightforward, accurate and real.We never thought to leave our skin damp after cleansing, but now we’ll never bother to pat dry again. My blog contains a lot of lifestyle content, with a lot of witty sarcasm, honesty and sass thrown in for good measure! I’m in my mid 30s and have for years struggled with managing my skin - not because it’s horrendous but having the confidence to understand redness issues or why I just can’t settle acne. Pretty Honest is an enjoyable read, with the additional benefit of looking quite pretty on a bookshelf. jaa, meil on tegu kosmeetikaraamatuga, kus tsiteeritakse Neil deGrasse Tysonit: "The good thing about science is that it's true, whether or not you believe it.

This combination of information and advice, as opposed to simple product recommendation, is what makes this book stand out from the myriad of other skincare and beauty books and makes it a truly exceptional reference book for the ages. She goes through every questions you may have had about your skin - how to clean it, take off your makeup, what you should use morning and what you should use at night. understanding ingredients lists, and advice on how to choose the products that are right for you, this is the ultimate guide to healthier, brighter skin. I think anyone who is new to comprehensive skincare and is trying to figure out what cleansers, toners, essences, serums, moisturizers, sleeping masks, etc. Alexandra Soveral is described on the back cover as “the fashionista’s favourite facialist” – and I think the alliteration worked on me.

This book was a bit overwhelming too, but since she has a good reputation and comes off honest and straightforward, I feel now I have a good foundation of reasonable information and suggestions to work from. Hirons is a real authority in the skincare industry thanks to her increasingly popular blog, large social following and campaigns to support the beauty industry during Covid-19. There is a whole chapter about SPF, which is also re-inforced in previous and following chapters, like "always use a dedicated 30 or 50+ SPF, and don't forget to re-apply during the day". What really annoyed me is a small section where Caroline tells us not to whinge about our aging skin and embrace it, but at the same time throughout the whole book she talks about fillers and Botox. We started out by following the book’s advice to “spray hydrated” but our oily skin just didn’t need it as often as suggested.
