About this deal

The front cover has a magnetic holder which keeps the book closed after reading, you wont close the book much, so it's a waste of time, but a really nice touch, and makes the book stand out on the shelf. On Sunday, October 9, 2022, I will give a conference talk at the 2022 Casebook: Jack the Ripper Conference.

in the book there are copies of the letters he wrote to taunt police, they are presented on seperate pieces of paper which is a really nice touch.Whilst the book is a wonderful introduction for anyone interested in learning about the Ripper case, it doesn't come without its drawbacks, the most prominent of which for me was the number of spelling and grammar issues dotted throughout. Where's the point in going to the trouble and expense of including these reproductions of actual victorian documents, and then not providing typed transcriptions of their contents? One by one the murder victims are revealed, their similarities discussed and the scenes and circumstances of their murders investigated. The site was started in January 1996 and features suspect, victim and witness overviews as well as more than two-thousand contemporary press reports.

He was 30 years old in 1888 and had worked as a fish porter at the Billinsgate Fish Market in London's East End, though he had reportedly been fired earlier in the year, which may have been why Kelly had resorted to prostitution. However, Barnett explained that, despite their confrontation, they remained on cordial terms, to the point that when he got a new job, he offered financial assistance to Kelly. He is an acknowledged expert on the Jack the Ripper murders, in which capacity he has written two well received books - Uncovering Jack the Ripper's London and Jack the Ripper:- The Casebook.Joseph Barnett (25 May 1858 – 29 November 1926), also known by his nicknames Danny Barnett [1] and Joe, [2] was a fish porter who worked at Billingsgate Market in the 19th century, located in the East End of London, and later became known for being the roommate of Mary Jane Kelly.

This book didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know (because look who you're talking to here) but it was fun to look at all the memorabilia that they added in to make it interesting.

Whilst this book is never going to win prizes for being the most detailed of the Jack the Ripper publications, I was surprised by just how much it did cover. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. The wrap-around cover, with magnetic seals, the wonderful sepia-style pages, filled with bloodstains and murder weapons, and an abundance of photographs and drawings of the events from the time that they actually happened.
