About this deal

The most interesting segment is a short on how the film was marketed in the UK, featuring interviews with the guys who drew the UK poster art, since they at least have a modicum of first-hand involvement. There's even a very cheap rock music video "inspired" by the Evil Dead, which was performed by one of the experts interviewed previously. One by One We Will Take You: The Untold Saga of The Evil Dead – features relatively new interviews from the cast and crew and they discuss (and praise) Raimi for his work on this film. It also comes with an extras disc in DVD format, although there is no previously unreleased material here as all the extras have been lifted from the 2007 US Anchor Bay Ultimate Edition 3-disc DVD. From what I could tell this is all-new footage with none of the old outtake footage from the Elite and Book of the Dead editions.

Still, though, the Trilogy box is a nice cheap way to get Fanalysis and the Incredibly Strange Film Show episode into your collection if you otherwise just have the blus. It's a debate that's been going on since the 90s, and if you want to start it up again, all you have to do is visit any forum and post an opinion or ask a question about it.Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers. This is by far the best feature of disc four as it features interviews with a young Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell. The first came from Anchor Bay in 2007, essentially just bringing their old DVD into the high definition market. Starring Bruce Campbell (TV’s Ash vs Evil Dead) and Ellen Sandweiss (TV’s Ash vs Evil Dead), The Evil Dead follows five college students who travel to a remote cabin in the woods and unwittingly unleash a monstrous evil hellbent on their total destruction.

The reason I suggest the this DVD over the others, is that its the only version to include an open matte version of the film, in addition to the standard 1. It's worth noting that the version of 'The Incredibly Strange Film Show' featured here has been heavily edited to remove all film clips except for Evil Dead II, and runs at 27m 12s. The film itself is transferred from the US Anchor Bay 2010 Blu-Ray release, painstakingly re-edited and synced to a number of previously released commentary tracks.Below you can see side-by-side comparison screenshots between the older Blu-Ray (scaled up for comparison) and the 4K transfer (shown actual size). DVD purchasers may see 'anamorphic widescreen' on the cover, without realising that black bars have just been put on the top and bottom of the original 4:3 open matte print, meaning you see less picture in the 'Widescreen' version than in the 'Full Screen' version. It's just a 17 minute collection of photos narrated by Tom Sullivan, but it's kinda neat, and at least gives us a little more Evil Dead 2 content. All merchandise 100% guaranteed to be free of defects, should you receive a defective item we will gladly replace it free of charge for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase. TrueHD track, replaces the French dub with a Spanish one, and adds a third set of subtitles (making the always welcome distinction between standard English and SDH).
