About this deal

As I've mentioned in my previous two reviews regarding this series, the idea for each one of these books was quite interesting and unique. i have a personal pet peeve with second chance romances where the hero doesn’t really offer much when trying to change his attitude and behaviour while atoning for his mistakes. Wasn't a fan of how she put Cal in a position where he had to speak to her sister when she turned up because she couldn't deal with it. She seemed offended that Cal didn't know anything about her life during the 6 years since their relationship had ended. she had no backbone, she has the personality of a blank piece of paper and an emotional maturity of a 14 year old.

I feel like saying this a second chance romance is underselling the story, it is a second chance romance, but I feel like it's also very much a story of self-forgiveness and self-love. That’s what tore Cal and Alana apart the first time, and it’s also the thing that prevents them from having a future. I loved that Asher didn’t go with the “love heals all” path; Cal doesn’t instantly change his ways because Alana is back in his life. I love how each book was around each of the Kane brothers and how they grow into something they never thought they would and to find love! It’s no secret throughout the series that Cal is an addict – he’s a functioning alcoholic who has also leaned on pills in the past. Here's a short description that should highlight some of those similarities and differences: "Naomi wasn’t just running away from her wedding. Final Offer did start off on a high so high that I giggled because I assumed this was going to be my book of the year. To receive my inheritance, I was tasked with spending a summer at the family lake house before selling it. Cal is held accountable for his actions (low-key thought people were a bit too harsh on him at times) but his willingness to change, to be held accountable, to put the work into change his behaviour?

The moments that were good between them were GREAT, and I was aching for them to find their way together. This (anti)hero is perhaps the most “broken” man I’ve ever rooted for in a love story; he’s actively addicted, terrified of feeling his pain, and forced to confront the one woman who has always held his heart. Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren is "told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, teenage Elliot and Macy grow from friends to much more. Medical conditions play a huge role in our everyday life and if a little lighthearted romance can teach you something, let it be how to (and not to) treat people with them. The added weight throws him off-balance and the three of us crash against the carpet, with him taking the brunt of the weight. I'm sure there’s someone in real life who’s recovered as quickly and perfectly as Cal does at the end of this book, but this felt extremely unrealistic - a butterfly and rainbows happy ending. If you're someone who loves book series as much as I do and hasn't read the Twisted series yet, then I'd highly consider starting Twisted Love by Ana Huang next. Cal finds Lana’s mom died from cancer, and her sister is alive but signed Cami off to Lana since she didn’t wanna take care of her. I love reading about damaged heroes, especially when they put on a confident front, but the charm wasn't there at all.

nov 29: put this on hold for a bit since I cant stand Alana and her judgmental ass towards addiction, maybe the hold will be 1 day or 2 months.

Cami sees model boats in Cal’s room, Cal said he did with Lana and Cami begs to do it with him and be best friends. From the phrases they used in Spanish to the foods and even breaking some stereotypes (yes, some Latin ppl listen to country music, I'm not one of them but my cousin eats that sh*t up! While he's always showing happiness, his reality is far from perfect—which makes getting to see his life his and fight againt his addiction, both great and painful. She’s an amazing person, who's willing to sacrifice herself to see the people she loves happy, especially when it comes to her daughter, Cami—who honestly, is a highlight and the star of the book. Plagued with an overactive imagination, New York Times bestselling author Lauren spends her free time reading and writing.

I waited months for Terms and Conditions to be released and went in with so many expectations and ideas about how I wanted the book to go.He says he decides to go to rehab for himself, but how it was written makes it seem that it's entirely for Alana and Cami. However, it is meant to be read as part of the Dreamland Billionaire's series, so you'll miss out on some backstory that you're meant to have at that point. It became obvious how emotionally invested I was in his love story when I was completely and utterly disappointed by some of his actions. They are both hurt from their past and can’t let it go, but at the same, they can't stay away from each other. Lana was not the worst heroine and her selflessness regarding Cami rivals Mother Therese and for that she gets brownie points, but other than that i don’t really care about her that much.
