About this deal

However in the teens Javelin spree against Jason's corpse with that cemetary fence stake, that stake makes the perfect lightning rod for the lightning to reanimate Jason! I would suggest watching the first half of the film in 2D, so as to avoid a headache before the second half, which has the best 3D kill moments, including a well-timed harpoon bit.

Part 1 however is the same version, down to the disc art, as the collectors ed I bought a couple of years ago and DOES have all the extras, including a very good Making Of and decent commentary. Watch for an appearance by Crispin Glover and understand that this was never going to be "the final chapter" for Jason. Despite the low production budget, most of the effects blending is seamless and backgrounds are quite deep. Dubbedlanguages:French-Parisian,Spanish-LatinAmerican('Fridaythe13thPart2','Fridaythe13thPart3','Fridaythe13thTheFinalChapter','Fridaythe13thANewBeginning'.WONKA — The Magical Adventure of a Young Chocolate Maker Comes Home on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD on February 27th! If you love horror, and you love the idea of a invincible serial killer wearing a hockey mask, you're in luck. I think that, even with the obvious omission of several key Jason Vorhees films, the set’s a winner, owing mainly to the ridiculously elaborate packaging (everything from the mask to the limited edition-ness to the “Kill” counts for each film). If it's extras you want then I can recommend the DVD "His name was Jason", released to celebrate 30 years of Friday the 13th.

English, French and Spanish Dolby Digital mono mixes are also included, as are English SDH, French, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles. When this massive boxed set arrived on my porch, I took a long look through its many bells and whistles, and something became obvious to me very quickly: there was no way that I was going to have the time to get through every square inch of this set. Five years after the massacre at Camp Crystal Lake, the nerve-wracking legend of Jason Voorhees and his diabolical mother lives on.

Vorhees”, which is exactly what you think it is; deleted scenes (note: all “deleted scenes” are referred to in this boxed set as “slashed scenes” because, come on, how clever is that); and one of those newfangled “original theatrical trailer” thingamajigs. The disc for the reboot of Friday the 13th is identical to the 2009 Blu-ray release and includes both the 97-minute theatrical version and the 106-minute "Killer Cut. Also included are The Friday the 13th Chronicles, Part VIII (14:32/SD); New York Has a New Problem - The Making of Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (18:02/HD); Slashed Scenes (12:56/HD); a Gag Reel (4:54/HD); and the film's Original Theatrical Trailer (1:19/SD). Poppycock, I say) with commentary by Scott Reeves, Jensen Daggett, and Kane Hodder; a making-of featurette; deleted scenes; and—inexplicably—a gag reel. Unfortunately, both the acting and story take a step backward, and I never really cared about the plot Part V tries to advance.

English, French and Spanish Dolby mono mixes are also included, as are English, English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles. That it turned out as well as it did is credit to director/producer Cunningham, who previously worked with horror legend Wes Craven on The Last House on the Left. A few of the entries (particularly parts 4 and 5) try to change things up a little by giving Jason an adversary (that’d be little Tommy Jarvis, played initially by none other than Corey Feldman)(!Jarvis digs up a dormant Jason, and a convenient lightening strike re-animates the killer, who begins a fresh murder spree. This set contains virtually every scrap of “special feature” that’s ever been released on a Friday The 13 th disc, from special edition DVD’s to laser-discs.

There are a number of other endearingly strange extras that illustrate how aggressively this set is pitched at the fans. The killings, obviously the reason everyone sees these sorts of films, are gruesome but are often so poorly timed they wind up playing as awkward and ineffective. Also releasing on 9-13-13 is Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th, which is made by the people who did Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy. These opening deaths are violent and suspenseful, and by the time the opening title appears, I felt like I had watched a complete movie. Unwary campers ignore the locals' warnings and one by one they fi nd out how unlucky Friday the 13th can be.Jason is resurrected from his part 4 slumber and with a comical script and superb Jason effects, the series is back on track, albeit tongue in cheek now. Look, I might not be the biggest Friday The 13 th fan in the world, but I’ve gotta give credit where credit’s due: this is a fantastic, all-inclusive, well-produced set with some really cool bells and whistles.
