He was a fine blues guitarist and adept in the complexities of jazz-rock, and, in a career that began in the late 1960s, he ran the gamut of musical styles in a variety of groups and a long list of solo albums. It also examines his friendships and artistic collaborations with the likes of George Harrison, Philip Lynott, Peter Green, Rory Gallagher, Cream's Jack Bruce and many more. On 28 August 2020, Über Röck announced plans to host a tribute concert in Belfast on 6 February 2021 to mark the tenth anniversary of Moore's death.

In 2000–2001, Gibson released a Gary Moore Signature Les Paul Standard with a faded lemonburst finish and a reversed neck pickup. Most of his recorded product was always great ( even the albums that were not supposed to be released by Jet records. It was affiliated with the NBC radio network and owned by the Hearst Corporation (major long-time media syndicate / newspapers chain of titan / mogul William Randolph Hearst (1863–1956), of first San Francisco, then becoming a major American media owner centered now in New York City, with control later passed down through family descendents / publishers.

During the 1980s, Moore also played Hamer and PRS guitars, as well as Charvels equipped with Floyd Rose tremolos and EMG pickups. This was followed-up by Power of the Blues (2004), Old New Ballads Blues (2006), Close as You Get (2007) and finally Bad for You Baby (2008).

Sensing that he needed a more disciplined environment, Moore then joined the jazz-fusion group Colosseum II, formed by the drummer Jon Hiseman. On 18 April 2011, a number of musicians, including Eric Bell and Brian Downey, gathered for a tribute concert at Whelan's in Dublin. That same year, guitarist Henrik Freischlader released a tribute album to Moore, titled Blues for Gary. On an episode of the show that September, guests Viola and Stephen Armstrong appeared with the secret that their son Neil had been selected as an astronaut by NASA that day.

Moore, along with Van Morrison and Eric Bell is one of the pantheon of legendry Ulster Rock musicians. A very comprehensive record of Gary's music, career and personal life, which manages to capture his insecurities and lack of direction as well as his enormous musical talent and colossal energy.
