It has a fixture time on steel of 30 min, brass 25 min and stainless steel 270 min making it deal for applications where migration of the adhesive must be prevented. When used to assemble threaded fasteners, LOCTITE® threadlockers permanently secure assemblies and eliminate fretting corrosion. Applied between two mating threads, liquid threadlocker adhesives secure nuts, bolts, and threaded fasteners in place.

Because of its low viscosity and capillary action, the product wicks between engaged threads and eliminates the need for disassembly prior to application. LOCTITE® 270 is particularly suitable for heavy duty applications, where maximum strength is required. The graph shown in the data sheet shows the breakaway strength developed with time on M10 steel nuts and bolts. It is a high strength anaerobic threadlocker, designed to permanently lock metal threaded components.
