Can the two find a way to fix their friendship, or will their feelings of jealousy and inferiority ruin everything…? began as a web comic on the author's Twitter account on April 13, 2018 before official serialization began in Gene pixiv on November 23, 2018.

It allows for a slice of life type of storytelling that explores the entire friend group without insisting too much on the central couple and it gives more variety to the manga overall. Cue a major misunderstanding when Kakeru says he’s not going – which makes Yamato jump to the wrong conclusion and says he’s not going either. And, earlier on, a page on the recording of the third Drama CD which was released at the same time as Volume 5 in Japan. There’s a very real possibility that this friendship won’t survive, let alone transform into the deeper relationship that Yamato so fervently hopes for. I Cannot Reach You winds the clock back in Volume 6 to the time Yamato and Kakeru were in elementary school together – and were the same height!Meanwhile, Christmas is fast approaching and Yamato and Kakeru’s class is planning a Christmas party. This book has such a slow burn with interrupted confession scenes, misunderstandings, and several romantic tropes. Now we begin to learn more about Yamato’s parents; his mother is holding the family together, aided by Kakeru’s parents, as his father is in a coma after an accident that happened when he was in Sendai on business. Okay but I seriously don't get why I like this story so much, i usually read this cliche romances and immediately forget about them ,but my God, this is so good and such a page turner! Yamato, now the taller (and possibly the more emotionally mature of the two) knows what he wants – commitment – from Kakeru, but Kakeru, lacking in self-confidence (and maybe just not ready to commit to a romantic relationship) constantly ducks out, runs away, disappears whenever Yamato makes a move.

Yamato is extremely shy and has to push himself out of his comfort zone to show his feelings to Kakeru. thing you read that you are so enamored by that all of a sudden you reach the end of the chapter, yet you're craving for more. Amamiya and Fujino, their school friends have huge personalities that fill up a page and Yui is a perfect troll that’s always good for a laugh or to stir things up. Not a problem—unless you’re in love with your childhood best friend…How in the world can Kakeru make Yamato look at him when Yamato is completely out of his league? The poor kid is self-conscious about his height (or lack of it) and how ordinary he looks when they’re out together and Yamato draws all the admiring gazes, because he’s tall, looks like an idol etc.At Anime NYC 2023, Anime News Network had the opportunity to sit down with the voice actor Kazuki Ura, the voice of BLUELOCK's main protagonist Isagi, and Ryoya Arisawa, the producer of the hit sports anime BLUELOCK.

And Mika’s accomplished graphic style is really well suited to portraying the characters; I’ve mentioned before that some of Kakeru’s extreme reaction shots (and they are extreme!Love triangles are decidedly not my favourite story convention, so I could see that plotline potentially becoming tiresome in the future, but, so far, I Cannot Reach You is a cute story of youthful first love that I’d say is worth checking out.
