About this deal

We were able to see the feed clearly throughout the day and night thanks to the aforementioned night vision. Even when the parent unit is right next to the child unit we still got an “Out of signal coverage” alert. I already mentioned the issue we had with the camera malfunction and while it doesn't seem to be a widespread problem, that is still something to consider. The video quality of the Infant Optics is clear, smooth and has almost no latency (nothing you would really notice) or issue with range.

This is an essential feature for parents who use items such as fans, air conditioners, and heaters in the baby’s room who value their peace and quiet but want to ensure the safety of their baby. As soon as I realized it wasn't operational, grabbed a couple of guitar picks and started to try and pry the case open.

If he wanted to keep an eye on Calvin in his room, that meant the garage, back yard, and different sides of the house were all off limits. It's been a decade, but the memory of penetrating a couple of company networks, with permission, and helping secure them, is still vivid! The screen quality is day and night, the noise reduction is a game changer, and the set-up is way easier.

Large metallic objects, including doors, refrigerators, mirrors, filing cabinets, and also reinforced concrete, may block the radio signal if between the Camera and Monitor Unit. This "zoom" lens allows for a closer look at the baby, but we aren't sure it is a handy tool unless you use it as a permanent part of the camera so you can place the camera further from your baby for a decrease in EMF exposure. In our testing, the battery life on the Infant Optics DXR-8 monitor was enough to be used unplugged during nap time and when your baby goes to bed in the evening until you go.It does have a shortcut button for volume and brightness, but the shortcut is almost the same as going through the menu features, so we still wish it had buttons outside the menu options on the body of the parent unit. Unluckily for us, we don’t live inside of a football stadium, so we really can’t even tell the difference in utility with this new update. Keep in mind, though, that you have to be careful not to hold the monitor in front of the camera with sound on, or else you'll get some feedback, which is typical with any sound device.
