About this deal

I’d recommend the book for anyone interested in making small but easy lifestyle habits to improve your wellbeing. I liked that this book gave methods or rather habits that can be added to your day such as via diet or exercise or even hobbies. The result is a radical, four-week programme, based on the latest science, designed to help you re-establish a healthy sleep pattern in record time. I've long been a fan of Dr Michael Mosley - I like his approach, science delivered in an easy to understand way that doesn't make my eyes glaze over.

This unbiased review is from an uncorrected proof copy provided by NetGalley and Octopus Publishing. I found I had already stumbled upon quite a few of these as things that work well for me anyway, and it has encouraged me to revisit a few that I have tried and abandoned in the past. Based on the popular BBC podcast, Just One Thing, this book brings to life Dr Mosley's mission to unearth small, simple things you can introduce into your routine which will have a big impact on your mental and physical health.

New episodes will be released on Wednesdays, but if you’re in the UK, listen to new episodes, a week early, first on BBC Sounds: bbc. I was surprised to read about the benefits of eating beetroot (who knew) and enjoyed learning that the temperature decrease that happens after a warm bath mimics the body's natural drop in core temperature prior to sleep. He is the author of many bestselling books, including The Fast Diet, Fast Exercise, The 8-Week Blood Sugar Diet, The Clever Gut Diet, The Fast 800 Diet, Fast Asleep, The Fast 800 Keto and Just One Thing. Other ideas that were new to me are things like drinking coffee, which lowers the risk of strokes, heart disease, cancer and dementia, and eccentric exercise – which involves walking downhill, down stairs and lowering weights, which have been shown to be more effective than running uphill, up stairs and lifting weights. Our Adult Fiction Books, Range includes Classics Novels, Comic Books, Crime, Thriller, Mystery Novels, General Fiction, Horror, Romance, Science Fiction and War.

Michael adds a plank into his exercise routine and is surprised to learn of its huge benefits to our physical health. In this series of special editions of BBC Radio 4 podcast Just One Thing, Michael Mosley quizzes the world’s leading health experts on the best ways to live well. Based on the popular BBC podcast, Just One Thing , this book brings to life Dr Mosley's mission to unearth small, simple things you can introduce into your routine which will have a big impact on your mental and physical health. Michael Mosley (born 22 March 1957) is a British television journalist, producer and presenter who has worked for the BBC since 1985.

In this section, you’ll find advice, reviews, recommendations and insights for helping to find balance, especially between physical and mental health. Did you know that eating chocolate can help your heart, that singing can give you a natural ‘high’ and that having more house plants can improve your mood and boost your productivity?

I found it interesting but if I’m honest I already knew most of the idea’s contained in the book from listening to Diary of a CEO (Stephen Bartlett) podcasts. By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others.Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you.

It has an engaging style, is packed with ideas and is easy to follow (no prior knowledge needed) I highly recommend it! Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. Michael discovers that small acts of kindness can not only boost your mental health and improve your relationships but also boost the immune system. I just started listening to this podcast and have really been enjoying all of the tips which can be easy to incorporate into my busy lifestyle.

Furthermore, well dutifully repeating the calories in and calories out hypothesis and critiquing it somewhat, he completely failed to mention ultra process foods which seems to be a curious omission in light of Chris van Tulleken‘s new book.
