It seems like only yesterday that we were announcing the groundbreaking arrival of a Warhammer 40,000 comic, doesn’t it? It will be the second comic book collaboration between GW and Marvel, following on the heels of the Marneus Calgar series, written by Kieron Gillen, with art by Jacen Burrows, which released five issues between 2020 and 2021.

It delivers solid hints in the details as to what the Sisters of Battle are about and the world of Warhammer 40,000. The Sisters learn the story and fate of the Inquisitorial Acolyte, but this doesn't necessarily equal mission accomplished. The epic showdown between Iron Man and his allies and Korvac and his cohort continues aboard Galactus' worldship! You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

Nowhere is that more clear than in the canonical representation of the Sisters of Battle — sexy, gritty women with sleek armor and enormous military assets. Soon Canoness Veridyan finds herself leading her Battle Sisters in a furious fight to survive and discover Siscia’s secrets. No matter how neatly this tale is told, it still lacks purpose and that leaves the experience as hollow as the soldiers marching inevitably toward death on the page. At its core, the heroes of this story are trying to figure out what is going on on Siscia and resolve the violence best they can.And while it does feel like a healthy knowledge of the Warhammer universe and its characters would make this a richer reading experience, there's still enough here to scratch that violent war-loving itch.

Out this week is the second story arc Sisters of Battle which further fleshes out the universe for new readers while supplying super fans of the Sisters of Battle. Warhammer is for everyone” the company said last year during the thick of the Black Lives Matter protests, and it felt good to hear that said. If they can't fight their way through the unexpected appearance of a DAEMON in the tunnels, it may not matter!A squad of Adepta Sororitas, led by Canoness Veridyan arrive on planet Siscia to retrieve a lost Inquisitorial Acolyte and put down a heretical uprising. Grønbekk goes on to praise the art team working on the book while setting the stage for the tone of the story they'll create. It gives us the next chapter for that world in the hands of Marvel comics and shows they're willing to shake up the formula a bit with each new series. GrØnbekk opens the issue with a man in cobbled together armor throwing what appear to be religious priests off a very high ledge.
