About this deal

The book has caused me to match what tasks I need to accomplish with the mental state that Kadavy describes. El Mind Management se refiere justo a eso, a entender los estados mentales por los que pasamos a la hora de crear, y de cómo debemos hacer lo posible para que ese ciclo creativo sea lo más fluido posible. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Thought-provoking for any of us who identify with Kadavy's self-description of constantly finding ways to do more and more things in less and less time. And a nice collection of tips, some of them quite similar to what I had discovered myself—so I suspect the other ones are worth trying, too.

Mindful prioritization involves identifying tasks that align with long-term objectives and focusing energy on them, rather than getting lost in low-impact activities. There is a fine refutation of the contemporary obsession on time-management, arguing that it's based in Taylorism theories of uncreative factory work. For example, when we're planning to make a presentation, it's important to know if we're in a state where we're good at handling details or if we're feeling creative and can generate new ideas. I have been thinking and writing a lot about Creativity Systems, so I could be guilty of fitting his arguments to my mental model, but it is encouraging to me. Sleep-A one-hour increase in average daily sleep raises productivity by more than a one-year increase in education.

As I mentioned at poing 1 for the productivity advice I would give 5 stars - despite in some points its more good collection (and connection) which was already said in other forms. But it's a damn good illustration and inspiration that it's you who have to work, through those very ups and downs, mishaps and sudden thunderstorms, to find what works for *you*, personally. Plus, the book pointed out that I need to pay more attention to my mood and what kind of tasks are best for it (and how to change my mood to prepare for needed tasks).
