Today’s young wine industry takes things much less seriously than in years past. The colorful world of natural wine has hit the mainstream and, while many of the wines can look and taste just like traditional, commercial wine, there’s a fun-first approach to drinking and enjoying wine. As such, the standards for serving and presenting wine have changed. Who has the space for an army of “proper” wine glasses? In a pinch, a halfway decent pint glass is sufficient. So don’t sweat the super expensive, hype-fragile glasses. Often associated with brandy, the Snifter glass has a short stem and wide bowl that narrows as it approaches the rim.
