In 2012, Monopoly released a Sonic the Hedgehog Collector's Edition! The game includes special Sonic-themed playing pieces (or tokens). One of these pieces is a little neutral Chao. It's very small, as you'd expect, so the details aren't great. This version of Sonic Monopoly is difficult to get a hold of today, as it's long out of production. Sonic X introduced many fans to newcomers Cream and Cheese! Being a main character, Cheese got quite a bit of merchandise.

Great Eastern Entertainment (GEE) produced a 6" Hero Chao plush-toy for there Sonic the Hedgehog plush-line. Additionally, an extremely rare Hero Chao plushie which could be found in Japan exclusively in claw machines was made to promote Sonic Adventure 2 for the Sega Dreamcast. Hero Chao can usually only speak one word which is their own species' name. However, they have a very distinct form of communication: their emotion-dot. This dot floats above a Hero Chao's head and will change shape depending on what they think or feel: It becomes a heart when the Hero Chao is happy, a question mark when the Hero Chao is confused, an exclamation point when the Hero Chao is alarmed, and a swirl when the Hero Chao is unhappy. Not available on the US Sega Shop but purchasable elsewhere. Similar to the Neutral Chao figure, this Gold Chao also has moveable arms and can turn its head.

One can evolve a Hero Chao into a type of Chaos Chao called an "Angel Chao". To get this kind of Chao, a Chao must be a Hero Chao that has already gone through two reincarnations. Once the Chao is on its third life, they will have to receive at least one of all the small Animals before the Chao has evolved to the second stage of its third life. They will then evolve into an Angel Chao.

Finally, Toy Island also produced a set of gels pens, including a neutral Chao topper (probably the same one as above). Jakks Pacific have held the Sonic licence for many years - and in 2020, they've finally produced an articulated Chao figure! This Chao has moveable arms and can turn its head. It comes with 3 gold ring accessories, and is meant to be used alongside Jakks' Green Hill Zone playset. This Christmas jumper was an exclusive product for the UK and EU Sega Stores online. There are small Chao heads lining the bottom of the jumper. Following the Super Genesis Wave, Hero Chao became nearly indistinguishable from their game counterparts. In Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut, the player can raise Chao into Hero Chao. In this game, one can evolve a Chao into a Hero Chao by feeding them Hero Fruit. A child Chao that is about to evolve into a Hero Chao will have its visual traits. Once they undergo their first evolution, the Chao will become a Hero Chao.
