About this deal

Dinosan, or Dinosaur Sanctuary, is a fairly new manga that I think should be getting some more attention. The Centrosaurus have a love triangle, with the males Daikichi and Shoukichi fighting for mating rights with the female Umeko. Ultimately by Chapter 12, Umeko ends up choosing Shoukichi after he had beaten Daikichi in a fight in Chapter 10.

Also, the dinosaurs here are shown to be animals. Some eat meat, yes, but they are more than monsters - they are shy, or bond with carers. They develop gout because of kidey failure or have special dietary needs. This makes the dinosaurs not less interesting, but more interesting, as they are as complex and fascinating as current life on earth. The first few chapters have already been released as volumes, and they've been published in English too, thanks to Seven Seas Entertainment. Slice of Life: The series is pretty episodic overall, focusing primarily on the everyday activities the zookeepers engage in while caring for the dinosaurs, not unlike a behind-the-scenes zoo series. Can the keepers safely remove an obstruction from a Troodon’s throat? Can they help boost the popularity of a triceratops with a broken horn so he won’t be sold to another zoo? Did the vet catch the signs of kidney disease in the Dilophosaurus in time?

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED… When dinosaurs were found to have survived to modern times, people were enthralled—until a catastrophic incident drove dino-mania to extinction. When Kaidou, who was there to witness it, opens up about what happened, the rookie Dino keeper Suma Suzume learns more about the disaster—and her coworker—than she ever expected. But that far from Rhett only thing on her mind. Whether it’s raising a baby Troodon or throwing a birthday party for a geriatric T. rex, there’s always plenty for Suzume to do at Dinoland! Fluffy the Terrible: Some of the dinosaurs have surprisingly cute-sounding names, like Yuki the Giganotosaurus, Hanako the Tyrannosaurus and Ichigo the Allosaurus. In this case it serves to convey their status as just animals, not monsters. Dinosaur Sanctuary ( Japanese: ディノサン, Hepburn: Dinosan) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Itaru Kinoshita, with Shin-ichi Fujiwara serving as research consultant. It began serialization in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic Bunch magazine in March 2021; as of April 2023, four volumes have been released. The artstyle is absolutely gorgeous with a lot of detail for both the dinosaur and human characters, but enviroments also aren't forgotten. Dinosaur Sanctuary is a manga made by Itaru Kinoshita, and the research consultant is Shin-Ichi Fujiwara. The synopsis is as follows: Nov 20 From the U.S. to Japan, You Can Control the Life-Size Moving Gundam from the Comfort of Your Own Home Insufferable Genius: Shiranui. While he's incredibly competent in veterinary practice, he's also condescending, arrogant and mean-spirited.

TLDR; young girl with passion for dinosaurs never grew up and became a dinosaur zookeeper in her twenties. And main villain seems to be capitalism, as it should be. This was really good! (Even though I was surprised by how scientific it was even if in hindsight the blurb obviously says that. LOL!) Shown Their Work: The author puts a lot of research into reconstructing the series' dinosaurs, right down to how the bone structure of the dinosaurs would have allowed them to sit down. Characters who are veteran Dino-keepers and Dino-doctors are constantly making observations about how their charges move, sit, and behave. Research consultant Shin-ichi Fujiwara is even listed as a co-author, and each chapter ends with Fujiwara's insight into the various details considered in depicting the dinosaurs of Enoshima Dinoland. Seven Seas will release Mado Nozaki's Titan novel under its Airship imprint in September. The company describes the novel:Edutainment Show: There are notes from the manga's research consultant explaining some of the details in the story's portrayal of its dinosaurs, as are numerous placards in-universe showing real information about the dinosaurs. Seven Seas will release the first volume of Niiro Ikuhana's Imaginary manga in August. The company describes the manga:

Written by Itaru Kinoshita, the series began serialization in Shinchosha's Monthly Comic Bunch magazine on March 19, 2021. [2] Shin-ichi Fujiwara, a lecturer at the Nagoya University Museum [ ja], is serving as the series' research consultant. [2] As of April 2023, the series' individual chapters have been collected into four tankōbon volumes. [3]The series is also notable for its hard aversion of Artistic License – Paleontology. All the dinosaurs you expect to have feathers are as fluffy as they should be, and an actual paleontologist, Dr. Shin-ichi Fujiwara, was consulted by Kinoshita for information on depicting the dinosaurs with the correct behaviours and anatomy, and each chapter is accompanied with a detailed scientific explanation justifying how the dinosaurs are portrayed in the story. Likewise, the dinosaurs are also anything but Prehistoric Monsters, and their interactions with their handlers are not too different from what real-life zookeepers deal with when it comes to modern animals. Hanako, a Tyrannosaurus has reached the age of 36, and Suzume, along with Kurumi-San and Kaidou, make a special birthday cake out of meat for her, as she doesn’t often leave her shelter. The special birthday cake works, allowing the crowd and Suzume to wish Hanako a happy birthday. Noodle Incident: The 2006 incident that killed public interest in dinosaurs remains one of these for the first few chapters. It finally becomes resolved in Chapter 6.
