About this deal

It’s impossible for me to not give an extremely biased review of this book. Not only am I a huge Game of Thrones fan, but the Targaryens have also always ruled as supreme in my eyes. I have never consumed any literature this fast, desperate to surround myself with the history of the Targaryen family that wasn’t introduced in House of the Dragon and to learn what will happen beyond the end of season 1. This book has made me desperate for a spin-off series of Aegon the firsts conquest, to see Balerion come to life on TV would be breathtaking. The illustrator Jonathan Burton shed light on his work in an interview with tor.com. “I am coming to these novels completely cold having not seen the TV series; so, I was excited to see what happens to these characters. I was constantly surprised by the unfolding events and I had a few jaw-dropping moments; including Melisandre’s true nature and what happens to Renly. The new character of Brienne is a gift. My favorite is Arya with her feisty yet innocent character constantly up against the most monstrous and manipulative.” A Song of Ice and Fire main series (5 books: 1. A Game of Thrones, 2. A Clash of Kings, 3. A Storm of Swords, 4. A Feast for Crows, 5. A Dance with Dragons).

Heirs of the Dragon": Being about 17,000 words long, it focuses on the reign of Jaehaerys I Targaryen and the succession crisis following the deaths of his sons. An abridged version, The Rogue Prince, previously published in the anthology Rogues in 2014, uses the majority of this text. [16] Martin's present home is Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is a member of Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (he was South-Central Regional Director 1977-1979, and Vice President 1996-1998), and of Writers' Guild of America, West. El ascenso del dragón es el mismo libro que Fuego y Sangre y nos narra la historia de los Targaryen, la familia de señores dragones que controló ponientes por varios siglos antes de que empiecen las novelas de Canción de hielo y fuego. La diferencia con el libro de Fuego y sangre es que este tocho está profusamente ilustrado y contiene mucho menos rollo que su hermano mayor, así que, si como yo no pudiste con el estilo de crónica histórica de Martin pero te encantó la serie , esta es una buena opción. A new illustrated edition of A Storm of Swords is due for the coming November. But this amazing edition of A Clash of Kings has arrived and you can buy it here. Martin has always been a writer that walks up to the line of good taste, drops his trousers, and poops on the line. It is part of what makes A Song of Ice and Fire so memorable, this willingness to provide a fully un-PC, X-rated take on classic fantasy tropes. Unfortunately, in Fire and Blood, he doubles down on the grosser aspects of his previous novels, to the extent that they feel less like plot-points and more like pathologies. If you read only Fire and Blood and were asked to describe Martin, you would be forced to say he is a man that is obsessed with incest, “lustily” nursing infants, underage sex (try not to throw up when a “beautiful” six year-old is presented for marriage), and underage sex between brother and sister, resulting in a nursing infant. The second offering is a new one; it’s the hardcover edition of THREE KINGS, the twenty-ninth volume in the Wild Cards series. Harper Collins Voyager released it on Friday, May 1 in the UK. “This one is a sequel to KNAVES OVER QUEENS, and like that volume it is set entirely in the British Isles, featuring a cast of English and Irish aces, jokers, and knaves, including the Seamstress, the Green Man, Badh, Double Helix, and Enigma”. Martin wrote about Three Kings. It’s all good, full of Romeo Rapscallion good writing. My copy is leather bound, finished in mahogany. Quite attractive. And the tales are full of Westeros and Essos and the Summer Isles. I’m really quite impressed. Mr. Martin, I salute you sir!

The middle of the book is about the 50-years-long reign of Jaehaerys I, from his ascendance to the throne at age 14 to his death, and comprises seven chapters that tell the entire history of the king, his Queen Alysanne and their thirteen children. This part is mostly new material, as only a fraction of it was known, and in my opinion it's the most interesting and enjoyable part.

As of 2014, more than 200,000 words had been written for Fire & Blood. [8] This entire historical account is said to cover Targaryen history through the reign of Aegon V Targaryen. [9] Gary Gianni, an American artist, has done the artwork for the book, that Martin describes as “lithograph-like”. Before ASOS, the first two books – A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings – have also released in illustrated forms. Gary Gianni had also contributed to the artwork for A Game of Thrones. We also have a look at the cover for the illustrated version of ASOS.
