This chair also folds up for storage, though we wouldn’t want to carry this chair very far, as it weighs over 40 pounds. The barbeque stain came off the smooth wood finish with ease, though we had to work a bit on the roasted marshmallow residue (this was the case with many wood chairs we tested). The chair comes in both a natural wood finish and a gray finish. Assembly was somewhat lengthy and involved, and you’ll likely need a second person to assist. Note: The first chair we received arrived defective, but we were able to receive a functional replacement for testing. The imitation wood not only adds to the chair’s appearance but is also practical. First, you'll find no splinters; we liked that it felt comfortable against bare skin. While wooden chairs can absorb water, soaking the chair with a hose simply caused water to bead up. We also found it was easy to clean up barbecue sauce; the melted marshmallows required a bit of scrubbing with a wet paper towel and dish soap but eventually came off. While this chair doesn’t have any additional features, such as a cup holder, you could confidently set a beverage on its flat, wide arms. The cutouts also make the chair comfortable for larger bodies and for parents cuddling small kids.

The curved seat is comfortable and roomy for a body’s natural shape. It also has wide armrests, so it’s easy to balance a plate of food or drink. The sturdy construction makes it easy to get in and out of. The manufacturer terms this chair “all-weather resistant,” but teak wood does patina to a silver color over time. If you prefer that it not fade, consider staining or sealing the wood and possibly sanding it regularly to maintain a fresh finish.

Although this chair doesn't come with any adjustments, it is a folding chair. But given it's the heaviest of all the chairs on our list, it can be a bit awkward to carry—a trade-off of its solid build. And we found that it doesn’t stay folded once you place it in storage, which can be frustrating if you’re dealing with limited storage space in a garage or shed. Considering it's constructed with poly lumber, it was no surprise that the stains lifted with ease and the water beaded on the surface as opposed to soaking into the chair. In short, we think this chair is made to last many seasons, and its fun color varieties and drink holders are just the icing on top.
