About this deal

Camu and Lasgol's Snow Panther Ona are amusing. A good job representing a foreign mindset and world view from Camu, although often its attitudes and actions make it abundantly clear why his species is very rare (almost extinct) Remember that we cannot outline every single hazard on a walk – it’s up to you to be safe and competent. Read up on Walk up Yr Wyddfa / Snowdon Safely Navigation and the Gear and Equipment you’ll need. Seeing Gerd as well was amazing and seeing how he has grown as a Ranger and what he has accomplished despite being one of the weaker candidates for the Rangers. I found that it was unfair as he seems to be such a great ranger and can easily handle anything that comes his way. One thing I really enjoyed was Viggo and Ingrid (as always). They’re still driving me insane with this slow burn but it’s awesome. You can tell she’s warming up to him but doesn’t want to admit it. And Viggo’s well Viggo.

A very ever changing and unexpected twists and turns that I characterized as - "I diden't see that coming". - all the way through the books !!! Lasgol is determined to clear his father's name, and to do this, he has only one option: attend the School of Rangers, a secret place where the respected and feared defenders of the lands of the kingdom are trained for four years. Going there is insane: Hate and death await him. But as the son of a Ranger, he's entitled to attend. A very elight organization - that if you are able to stay - all the way through of a grilling 4 years of a mental physicsl challenges to becom a Reager - all your past - will be forgiven !!! I've generally enjoyed the 'Ranger' theme in SF Fantasy. It's almost become a sub-genre of it's own. However, I'm not a big fan with the 'coming of age', but if well written and good subplots....I can enjoy. stars. I've loved this series so far, the last book was my favourite, but this one (compared to how the others developed and improved over time) was a little underwhelming.I don't want to say too much so as to give anything away. But I believe that you will love this book and its characters (Perhaps even the hard headed ones or the ones you wouldn't imagine interacting with in real life) Lasgol and his partners have to overcome a tough second year at the Camp if they want to become Rangers one day. The tests are going to be much harder, and the effort required a lot greater. Rivalries are going to surface, but so will companionship, even love. He’s going to find out that he doesn’t know the entire truth about what happened to his parents, or about Camu, his new friend. New mysteries are going to pop up that he must investigate and solve. These are going to drive him to face life-and-death situations as well as ponder the possibility that the real enemy might not be the one it seems to be. At the Camp he will find himself involved in political intrigues, disloyalties and murder. He will encounter hatred and fearsome enemies, but also a handful of friends, novices as much out of place as he is himself, determined to do whatever is necessary to pass the first year... without dying in the attempt. Definitely also a lot of unclarity in why the Snow Panther's would be so gungho to protect a king and his brother know to be tyrants, bullies, and in one case a sadist. Just didn't seem that plausible. PERO QUÉ???!!! Todavía estoy procesando todo lo que pasó. Pedro Urvi me la coló bien colada la verdad. No me lo vi venir.

So, this is a rather similar premise to John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice series, but the training process is different, since here it is not so much based on a master-apprentice relationship, but more on the relationship between the students, kind of like in the Harry Potter series. This one was also more gorey, a big part of that being thanks to those awesome death traps. I really do appreciate it though since it is a war and it’s actually realistic so you feel the weight of it more. El final me ha parecido muy precipitado y que de buenas a primeras se cambian las tornas casi porque sí. Another relationship I really enjoyed though was Astrid and Viggo’s friendship. I think it will continue since they’re still training together and seem to be kindred spirits in a way so that’ll be great. Lasgol and Astrid’s whole thing I’m not really sure what to think. They’re relationship seems to come out of nowhere and he literally knows nothing about her, Viggo probably knows her better than Lasgol does. This book feels more political as you see nuances in the capital and I really enjoyed seeing just what was going on as well as what Lasgol was doing.
