There is a trapdoor inside the gate, which is operated by a switch underneath. The toy also included a removable echo microphone, with the head of a wolf near the top. The microphone stored inside the toy, with the head of the wolf showing out the right side of the mountain. The demon face also had a lever located on the inside of the castle which allowed the user to operate the mouth of the face. This action, combined with a user speaking into the echo microphone, gave the appearance that Snake Mountain was talking in a frightening voice. Also en route for next fall, New Adventures Skeletor joins He-Man exclusively at Target. Joining him, we’ll see a deluxe Duncan from Revelation, in a new sculpt with fabric cloak. This Masters of the Universe Origins playset is inspired by the Snake Mountain lair in the Dark Hemisphere of Eternia. It was created as an homage to the '80s but with a bigger and better modern design. A huge snake dominates the top of the playset that also features a trap door, dungeon, Skeletor throne, “acid pool,” and escape tunnel. The playset is made for 5.5-inch Origins figures for an epic display. Colors and decorations may vary.Skeletor would then take Snake Mountain and assemble a roster of evil warriors for his own evil purposes. Although it did not appear in the film, Snake Mountain is mentioned at least once. Gwildor refers to Skeletor as the "Lord of Snake Mountain", which indicates that the location exists in the universe of the film. Mysterious Point Dread was a stone structure of magical might. Skeletor gets his bone throne, and an acid pit base features pegs that can either attach included monsters, or Origins figures torsos to make it look like they’re half-submerged. There won’t be an electronic microphone, but the exterior manacles will now be soft and flexible to fit around figure wrists without breaking. They’re still working on how to recreate the bridge-split feature. Foot pegs and wider walkways allow for more figure display options.

This collector-must-have iconic fortress pays homage to the vintage ’80s product while making it bigger and better. Snake Mountain has improved displayability with additional stairs/walkways proportionate to Origins figures. It includes a swappable Filmation series facade for multiple ways to play and display. Plus the set includes a trap door feature, additional play areas, and multiple accessories. Snake Mountain hits mainline retail in fall 2023. Snake Mountain made several appearances in the minicomics. Its depiction varies, but it tends to include both elements of the Filmation series as well as the appearance of the toy. Snake Mountain was not introduced until some way into the MOTU franchise. Previously, Skeletor's hideout had been described as "amongst the catacombs deep under Eternia", while the bible for the Filmation series listed his base as being Point Dread, located in the middle of the ocean. To get to throne, figures must pass by the wolf head and the intimidating spider. To get out, they must watch out for the ‘acid pool’ on the way to the hidden escape tunnel.
