About this deal

The fine carbonation makes this beer smooth and creamy top sip. It’s a pilsner so the hoppy front is well-executed. The nose is mostly malty but the hops introduce a bit of citrus and florals. And that trademark bitterness is tinged with notes of lemon and lime. There’s some breadiness in there as well. And though the head is gone in minutes, there’s a little lacing left. You know about champagne. And we’ve just mentioned plums. But did you know there’s one about beer too? Grodziskie (sometimes called Grätzer) is a traditional beer from Grodzisk. And yes, some describe it as Polish Champagne. Both for its fizziness and its regional specificity. This clear carbonated beer is smoked in oak barrels and built off wheat malts. It is a Polish brew whose aroma and flavors are malts, hops, a floral hop note, as well as herbal grassiness. The beer is made with American hops, Sabro and Simcoe, which gives it an American character. Because of the hops, the beer has a tropical character with notes of coconut and lime. It is also made with SafLager yeast for clean fermentation and a 5.1 percent ABV.

The flagship bottle – Okocim Jasne Okocimskie – is crisp and refreshing. The rest of the range is slightly pricier, but worth a try. Zywiec is still producing its beers using the same bottom fermentation technique from the beginning. There are several other line-ups of beers that the brewery produces, and all of these have become a sensation in the international beer scene.Although it seems like a good idea to enjoy Polish food with their beer, you should keep in mind that there are different types of beers they offer. If you have a Polish porter, you can pair this with barbecue, meats, chili, smoked food, stews, bacon, braised food and the like. This Polish bison beer – which was previously named Dojlidy Beer – has an ABV of 6%. It was first brewed in 1768 and changed its name when the brewery rebranded. It has a younger sibling – Prażubr (steppe bison) – which is unpasteurized and has a lower 5%ABV. After the war, the brewery was nationalized. During the communism Okocim was one of the only two breweries (next to Żywiec) which were allowed to export their products. In the 90’s, the brewery was privatised again. In 2004, Carlsberg took full control over the brewery.

With a 6 percent ABV, this Polish beer first emerged in 1768. The lager is pretty affordable and gives you that authentic Polish taste. Another variant of the beer, called Prazubr, features a 5 percent ABV and an unpasteurized texture. This pale lager is brewed by Kompania Piwowarska shepherded by Asahi. It’s the same group that produces Żubr and Tyskie. But Lech is a sub-brand with its own premises – Lech Browary Wielkopolski. The beer has varying potency depending on which market it’s intended for. The American variant has an ABV of 4.9% but other country versions hit 5.2%. Taste...I get a pilsner off the start. Something about that unique transition to the yeasty malt indigenous to the motherland Poland, A drying bitter invites more sips with enough sweet to balance. A typical lager for me but very good

The brewery produces several brands of beer, usually pale lagers ranging from 5.6% to 9.5% abv, including Żywiec Jasne Pełne or Żywiec Beer, a 5.5% abv pale lager, which has been brewed in the town of Żywiec, Poland for almost 150 years, and Żywiec Porter, a dark porter once brewed in Cieszyn Brewery.
