About this deal

Very impressive indeed! Though with this noise level, thanks to modes speed fans by AIO standards, we do wonder if full-speed thermal performance will be compromised slightly. Let’s find out. Maintaining 75% of the full fan, pump, and VRM fan speeds whilst hitting 40dBA noise levels is superb performance for an AIO. Once again, Arctic’s Liquid Freezer II 360 A-RGB proves to be an excellent option for users want low-noise AIO operation (ignoring thermal performance data for now). Unlike many of our competitors, we went to great lengths to develop the water pump. The result is greatly reduced humming and higher efficiency. Like the other components, the pump is also PWM controlled. This leads to a significantly lower noise level at low and typical loads, but also to much lower power consumption, with a maximum of of 0.8 W at no load, 2.3 W under normal load and a maximum of 4.8 W under full load for the entire AiO.

Shifting heat away from the CPU is the copper cold plate with its micro-skived fins. This square profile slab of copper looks to be appropriately sized to offer solid coverage for current Intel and AMD mainstream processors, as well as LGA 2066 that this cooler supports. Threadripper compatibility is not provided. Add competitive pricing, a 6-year warranty, and good RGB fans into the mix, and it is easy to give this cooler a recommendation.

We decided to test using a chassis as we feel that this is most representative of real-world use cases. It does have some unwanted influences on the test data, as does open-air test bench testing. But we feel that this is a worthwhile trade-off for real-world chassis performance of the coolers. Whether it's for their impressive cooling efficiency, looks, easy installation or even the zero clearance issues one thing is for certain, AIO (all-in-one) liquid CPU coolers are currently dominating the market. Now even though most people i know (myself included) primarily care about cooling efficiency there are countless consumers out there who care about looks mostly (however the majority probably wants the best of both worlds) which is why almost every single manufacturer in the market today has at least one RGB/ARGB model available. Our friends over at ARCTIC have also been updating their Liquid Freezer II line of AIO liquid CPU coolers by equipping them with RGB/ARGB fans and today I’ll be testing the 360 tri-fan variant. On the installation front, buyers should also be aware of the short cables for the fans. They can be connected to the splitter cable (which is sleeved alongside the tubes), but we prefer connecting our fans directly to the motherboard to exercise more control over the fans. This is easily solved with some 4-pin-to-4-pin extension cables. Conclusion In addition, it hides both the A-RGB and PWM cables of your radiator fans thanks to a well thought-out cable management system. This way, you only have to connect two plugs to the mainboard and save valuable time during installation. In the end, you don't need to hide any more cables and your view is reduced to the essentials.

With that said, noise is noise when it comes to user tolerance, so the way in which a cooler is designed and optimised is not necessarily a concern to a user simply wanting low-noise, 40dBA-type operation. The fan configuration is the three included Fractal Dynamic X2 GP-14 fans spinning at full 1000 RPM speed. In addition to the two 140mm front-mounted fans, and single 140mm rear exhaust, we added a be quiet! Pure Wings 2 1000 RPM 140mm fan as roof exhaust for air cooler testing. The aim here was to keep consistency with the airflow path of the liquid coolers which are always roof mounted.

Our chassis of choice is the Fractal Design Meshify 2 case that Leo reviewed and scored very highly. We like this chassis thanks to its high airflow optimisation and well-vented front and top panels.
