About this deal

The camera has a fixed shutter speed (1/120s) with a 31mm, single element f9 fixed-focus wide-angle lens, perfect for capturing most well-focused daylight scenes, and also features a built-in flash with a 15-second recycle time for night time shooting. There are plenty of good reasons why some love the authentic look and feel of film-generated photographs; there’s also the discipline of having only 24 or 36 exposures to work with, and the anticipation of having a roll developed. Then there’s the desire to slow down from the relentless pace of digital technology and instant gratification For that reason, this camera is way better as a film camera than it could ever be as a digital point-and-shoot. Film makes the process easy, thought-free, and fun. Throw in a roll of Kodak Ultramax or Lomo Purple and have fun. ILFORD revives the popular retro film camera from 1964 and introduces the new »ILFORD Sprite 35-II« Features a manual film advance winding lever that moves through each exposure & rewinds the roll when finished.

I don’t have any more exact comparison photos, so here are some more shots from the rest of the roll on the Ultra F9. I think the pictures are nice, similar in quality to a disposable camera but with the added bonus that it’s cheaper, better for the environment and you can choose what kind of film to put into it. The same goes for the Ilford Sprite Ilford Sprite II Photos Ilford Sprite II Photos Ilford Sprite II Photos Ilford Sprite II Photos Pricing The Ultra F9 came in what felt like a sort of iPhone box, so it does feel like a higher-quality product. But I must stress, these are the same camera in every single way other than looks and brand. Pictures Ilford Sprite II Picture Kodak Ultra F9 Picture Because the lenses on these cameras aren’t very good, you’ll want to get your subject in the middle of the frame to ensure that they’re in focus. Often low quality cameras have lenses that have really soft focus around the edges, so if you try to keep your subject near the middle then you’ll be more likely to get a sharper shot!Learn how to get the most out of your new Ilford Sprite 35mm-II Camera and the ins and outs of the film photography game in our Beginner’s Master Guide to Film Photography -- totally actionable and totally free! We know that users of analog cameras give a large part of the film for development and then also receive files from their negatives. That is why the camera will also be available as a bundle with selected inkjet photo papers. In this way, the user can print out his analogue photos at home, ”says Karsten Goltz, General Manager at Ilford. Ilford recommends using ISO 200 and 400 films with the Ilford Sprite 35-II. ISO 200 is great for full sun, while ISO 400 film works for every scenario, including when taking snapshots at sunset and sunrise, or when taking images at night with the flash on.

Loading Film There are no technical barriers, no settings to mess with, nothing to distract you from what you're doing, and nothing to disguise ( or make up for) any weaknesses, creatively speaking. The Ilford Sprite 35-II continues this legacy. It meets the needs of people experimenting with 35mm film and looking for a camera that is “no frills” easy to use. It is an advance over single-use cameras because it is reusable and does not create additional waste. All in all, it offers a highly interesting and inexpensive opportunity to get into analog photography and experience the fine grain of silver-based photographs. The camera has a fixed shutter speed (1/120s) with a 31mm, single element f/9 fixed-focus wide-angle lens, perfect for capturing most well-focused daylight scenes, and also features a built-in flash with a 15-second recycle time for night time shooting. You simply press the shutter button on the top to take a picture, then once you’ve taken it you can wind the film on and you’ll be good to take another one. Any time that you’re in ‘low light’ you want to use your flash. Low light is when you’re indoors, it’s dusk or dawn or you find yourself outside in a dimly lit area. You’ll get used to knowing when to use your flash, but it’ll save you from a lot of underexposed shots! Take Your Time

This camera looks amazing using color films like Kodak Gold, Ultramax. Their warm, saturated feel looks stunning in this camera, capturing perfect skin tones that look gorgeous at sunsets. ISO 400 film will give you more exposure latitude in the shadows and is preferable when shooting later in the day, or with flash at night.

It’s no secret that the Ilford Sprite 35-II cameras do not capture sharp images. But that’s not what this camera is about. I think the photos above show more clearly how these are exactly the same camera. It’s like that office meme “they’re the same picture”. There’s no difference, both have soft focus and the exposure is exactly the same. Kodak Ultra F9 Photos Kodak Ultra F9 Photos Kodak Ultra F9 Photos Kodak Ultra F9 Photos
