Ok, I've only read one volume, the first one, but I've finally started it. I'm so excited for this new story of hers. I've seen my friends love this and share all kinds of scenes on social media, I'm giddy about getting to those. I have a deep love for Daytime Shooting Star, so I cannot wait to continue reading this story. I would say this is the kind of shojo romance I'm mostly attracted to. I don't read a lot of romance but I do like some cute and fluffy romance that gave me butterflies and this one delivered ;) Disclaimer: This is an honest review from me as a reader, and it is not because of receiving the ARC or so on. Also, this review is not influenced by my mood before reading, as I read this out of the blue and not forced by anyone/anything (need to clarify this because I am a mood reader most of the time). That still leaves, of course, the other half of the romantic couple-to-be. Frankly, Kohaku’s character is a bit difficult to get a handle on but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Given Yoi’s status as the lead character, it makes sense to let the reader look on in intrigued confusion just as she does. The resultant picture we get it one of a character who acts fairly inconsistently, largely due to his being unsure of how to approach Yoi. He shifts considerably in likability from scene to scene, with the worse moments coming from how forceful he can be. With that said his brashness can also be endearing at times, such as when he calls some girls out about the way they’re discussing his and Yoi’s potential relationship. Time will tell how much this relationship proves to be one worth rooting for to succeed. I love Yoi’s character, she’s a really great prince-type who just wants to have somebody think of her as an actual woman (I do feel she could probably grow her hair out and the series would end, but shhh…). Despite having her very wounded side, she’s no less of a badass when she needs to be too. During one sequence where Ichimura steps into white knight her, I was really thrilled that it turns out she can handle herself just fine. More of this type of equal footing between our two leads please and thank-you. She earns her prince title, even as she really would rather not have it, just by being strong and kind. The art is lovely, the story & characters mediocre. Maybe those who haven't read many shoujo manga will be able to enjoy this more. DOG」ananマンガ大賞受賞、犬に変身する年下男子とのラブ". Comic Natalie (in Japanese). Natasha, Inc. December 24, 2021. Archived from the original on March 16, 2022 . Retrieved April 8, 2022. In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is a high school shoujo romance about a girl who is known as a prince in her school because of the way she talks and looks and a rich flirty guy who is THE OTHER PRINCE in her high school. Both known as princes, it was just a matter of time before they met. And oh my god I get this huge smile whenever I remember their meeting... and ALSO EVERY SINGLE SCENE WHERE THEY ARE TOGETHER.

I found the both leads quite bland. I wish Yoi hadn't been so easily taken by Ichimura. That the other girls become jealous of Yoi does not bode well as it promises a classic girl-on-girl hate side-plot that we could well do without. The main male lead is boring and so far his personality revolves around his beautiful appearance and his 'ability' to see Yoi as a girl. The ending of this volume was such a cliffhanger and I’m so excited to read volume two! The art style is wonderful and I’m anticipating some great discussion on themes touched in this first volume, including unconscious bias and breaking gender roles. Again, this whole volume was just super refreshing and deeply enjoyed it! I'm going to have to keep an eye out for this series because I love the premise and how it's a "different" kind of shojo! Definitely recommend! So I really like what this book is doing, but it feels like it’s taking its sweet time doing it. I might be wrong, but it felt a whole lot more introspective than we normally get in something like this, but without commensurate anything else to balance itself it kind of wobbles. Yoi isn’t exactly thrilled with her reputation and how she is perceived by both female and male classmates but she just sort of shrugs it off and accepts her fate. Until one day she literally bumps into someone who will make her see things differently, including herself. Dubbed the “other prince” at their school, Kohaku Ichimura runs into Yoi and believes he has come across the most beautiful boy he has ever seen. It isn’t until Kohaku is corrected by his peers that he realizes Yoi is indeed a girl.In terms of definite cons, there’s not much to note here. It’s difficult to assess the core relationship in terms of writing failures since there’s still so much development yet to be done, but there are some scenes that could have been improved with slightly altered pacing. Examples include the couple’s first lunch together as well as their first time sleeping together (literally, just sharing a bed nonsexually). These scenes aren’t bad by any means but they seem to fly by without mining them fully for their potential character exploration. facts about a Japanese gem, manga, would be a big loss for you. There are many reasons why there are
