About this deal

Only Time Will Tell has many narrators: Harry’s mother, a young woman he loves, his best friend, his mentor, and a man who could be his father. Each tells the story from a different perspective. So we may know more about Harry’s past than he does – but not what Harry’s going to do when he finds out. Be prepared for surprising developments that upend all your expectations and keep you guessing.

Richly imagined and populated with remarkable characters, The Clifton Chronicles will take you on a powerful journey, bringing to life one hundred years of family history in a story neither you, nor Harry, could ever have dreamt of. This book now has a spot in my top 100 reads of all time. Going into this I didn't think that I would like it. It was so different from what I usually read. However I am very glad that I went ahead and read this! I loved this book so much. It is so dear to my heart. I honestly have no complaints about this book. That may seem hard to believe but it's true. When challenged by his housemaster, Harry replies that "sometimes it's an advantage to be disadvantaged."From the internationally bestselling author Jeffrey Archer comes Only Time Will Tell, the first in the ambitious Clifton Chronicles series that tells the story of one family across generations, across oceans, from heartbreak to triumph. I love characters that you can root for! Harry is the definitive underdog character. He is being raised by a single mother in a time where this was not common. Harry seems content to follow his father's footsteps. He isn't that interested in school and then fate intervenes and sends him on a different path.

I promised my mum I'd be on time for the first choir practice, even though I knew it would be my last, as Miss Monday would soon realize I couldn't read or write. And it would have been my last, if it hadn't been obvious to anyone listening that my singing voice was in a different class to that of any other boy in the choir. In fact, the moment I opened my mouth, everyone fell silent, and the looks of admiration, even awe, that I had desperately sought on the football field, were happening in church. Miss Monday pretended not to notice. Thinking about all the cliche tropes* isn't this the same story we read everywhere ? The same cliche trope , the same dialogues , the same situation , I mean Mr. Archer I excepted something new and i have full right to feel cheated ! Story gets monotonous to the core, author could have simply finished the book in a trilogy manner but now there are 6 more books in the series, the plot is lost, the story too predictable. And I don't think I want to waste any more time reading this shit ,*BOOK*. Almost every predictable situation is there. The all sacrificing mother. A villain/bully in the hostel, and the girl's father who would go to any length to prevent the marriage. The first in the series, Only Time Will Tell takes a cast of memorable characters from the ravages of the Great War to the outbreak of the Second World War, when Harry must decide whether to take his place at Oxford, or join the fight against Hitler’s Germany. I normally am a little skeptical when people rave like crazy in a review, but I suppose I am now joining their ranks. Archer’s latest saga introduces a bright young man facing an uphill battle. Harry Clifton is born in Bristol, England, in 1920 to Maisie and Arthur Clifton, a young working-class couple, but Arthur disappears mysteriously, and the boy grows up without a father. Maisie is illiterate, but she takes work as a waitress to support them, and she never gives up on making a better life for her talented son.Maisie Clifton - Harry's mother who after sudden death of her husband Arthur, tries to make ends meet to support her family and Harry's education. Personal note :- Read synopsis before buying a book , no matter what just read the synopsis and save money Murder and a high-stakes art-world theft are cleverly blended [in this] exciting...global thrill-ride.” — Vancouver Sun on FALSE IMPRESSION
