About this deal

LifeSpan treadmills are becoming increasingly popular and there are many challenges to the crown, however, the Lifespan DT3 model has continually proved itself as one of the best treadmills on the market. Overall, this is a great option, although during testing we did find that the KS Fit app was a little glitchy, which was irritating. If you’re not all that bothered about recording your work walks, however, don’t let this put you off. The wheel on the front was shattered, the frame was bent, and the right extrusion arm was pushed slightly out of place. However, the treadmill was still functional. Your choice between the Omni console and Retro console. Either option is easy to read and adjust with multiple settings and display options

In terms of aesthetics, there is nothing exceptionally sleek about the Lifespan TR1200-DT3 GlowUp. The cheaper, plastic finish of the side rails and motor casing doesn’t do justice to the machine’s premium price point. But the overall look is understated, in-keeping with the average office environment and allowing it to blend into most workplaces.Quiet operation lets you stay respectful of coworkers while you walk for miles each day without impacting office productivity. From interviews with Lifespan executives over the years we learned that the company was never really on very solid financial footing. The tariffs imposed on China only affected some of the products that Strength Master made in their Chinese factory. But the pandemic, sadly, appears to have dealt a rather significant body blow to the company. In March of 2019, insiders tell us that Schenk simply “walked away from the company,” purportedly after some internal scandal over nepotism. Clearly, the Taiwanese are in charge of Lifespan Fitness today, with the daughter of Strength Master’s CEO moving to Utah to oversee the operation as its new CEO. In 2019, we learned from a wave of departing employees that they were told by the company that they were all being summarily laid off, without warning, “due to covid.”

In our full review, we mentioned how much we liked the belt: it’s long and wide enough to walk and perform gentle jogging. However, with a top speed of eight kilometres an hour, it’s not the most practical for people who are into hardcore running training. If you’re looking to get additional movement into your day, whether you want to walk while taking meetings or watching TV in the evenings, and think the way to do it is a space-saving, budget-friendly walking treadmill, this is the model for you. With a strong and durable build and a comprehensive design that doesn’t break the bank, this treadmill is a great option. The original TR1200’s 131 lb. frame was substantially stronger and better made than TreadDesk’s lightweight 101 lb. frame and Rebel’s featherweight 88 lb. frame (see our review of the Rebel Desk for picture comparisons of frame construction quality). Frame flex and creaking are both problems we noticed with the Rebel, and TreadDesk has had similar problems reported. Cheapskating on the frame weight played a significant part in why those two companies are no longer around. The LifeSpan TR1200 had more metal and reinforced rectangular tubing than its cheaper competitors.Increases Creativity: Studies have shown that exercise is directly linked to creativity. Research conducted at Standford University had volunteers complete a test involving tasks like rapidly coming up with alternative uses for common objects, such as a button. They were then asked to complete a similar exam while simultaneously walking on a treadmill at a slow comfortable pace. From this they were able to conclude that almost every student preformed substantially better. On average, the subjects were able to come up with 60% more uses for the object when walking rather than sitting. upgrade to “Room of Choice” (recommended) delivers the unit to the room you want it placed in, including up to two flights of stairs. It’s unclear how much ownership control the Taiwanese management team had over Lifespan prior to Schenk’s departure, but contrary to impressions the US-based company liked to put out to the world, the Utah contingent never really had much design input into the products they sold. This led to challenges over time. The company was never really in charge of its own destiny, and only had the management bench strength to be a capable distributor, not an actual technology innovation leader in the industry. The company that is always pushing the technology and ergonomic research on treadmill desks had always been iMovR. (iMovR also partnered with The Mayo Clinic to publish the only solid research on things like How Many Calories Can You Really Expect to Burn Using a Standing Desk or Treadmill Desk?)

As the walking desk treadmill’s step-up height reduces your standing desk’s height range, the low 4.6″ height helps you get the best ergonomic desk position. Besides, the 4.6-inch step-up height is easy to get on and off. Onboard Intelli-Step technology detects each foot step taken, keeping you aware of your daily step count. In terms of setup, you only have to unfold the machine, snap it into place, and plug it in. On the surface, there’s not much else to this model; there’s a small LED screen located on the front of the belt that displays your live metrics, a handy remote control, and 6km/h of speed available to play with. You also have access to the KS Fit app which allows you to control the tread from your phone, plus Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity. Refined, contemporary design and long-lasting construction make the TR1200-DT3 the perfect addition to your workspace. LifeSpan Treadmill is a good brand that offers a range of products for different fitness levels, goals, and budgets. Some of the advantages of LifeSpan treadmills are:

It is also better for individuals who have more than average weight. The LifeSpan treadmill is one of the top-selling treadmills on the market and is highly regarded as one of the best around to pair with a standing desk. For maintenance, the belt requires lubrication after every 50 hours of use. It comes pre-lubricated from the factory and shouldn’t need lubrication before use. It would help to keep the machine clean, especially the belt, to prevent debris or textile fibers from being caught in the motor or the rollers. Pros LifeSpan TR1200-DT3 Under Desk TreadmillThe TR1200-DT3’s compact dimensions guarantee a perfect fit and easy placement under your standing desk, helping you take the next step in your active lifestyle. A 2014 study published in PLoS One, found that introducing these machines into offices “has a significantly favorable impact on both physical activity and work performance”. On average, people using under desk treadmills burned an additional 74 calories each day, and most reported increased self-rated performance. Lifespan produces a range of fitness equipment for both home and office use and this treadmill has been specifically designed for use with a standing desk, it’s compact design ensures it comfortably fits into small spaces with ease, and its high-quality build has helped it to become a firm favorite amongst consumers.
