DIY. Create your very own slime. Choose from a huge collection of materials, colors and add-ins: add glitter, jelly cubes and tens of other amazing decorations. Slime is taking over; it’s slinking and sneaking into thousands of households almost overnight. Don’t worry, though—it’s a modern play medium that people of all ages love, especially kids. Your kids likely already know about slime, whether through videos or friends, and they may already be asking for it. That’s great if they are—playing with slime is the perfect way to teach open-ended, creative play to kids. I’ve called this a UK slime recipe for the simple reason that the ingredients are easy for us to find here in Europe, but of course it’s perfect to make *wherever* you live in the world! 🙂 Before we started playing with our slime, I had to find a recipe that would actually work. And that was harder than you would think. I attempted a recipe with powdered borax and that was a definite dud. So I went on the search for a slime recipe that was bound to work the first time. If you’re a huge fan of PLAY DOUGH see our dozens and dozens of scents, flavours and imaginative play ideas!Counter to more limited toys, slime has no restrictive rule book. You can do so much with it. The challenge, then, is deciding on something specific to do as a family, such as your own game. To help, here are some ideas for slime games: Search for hidden objects in the slime– we used our butterfly or flower confetti for this. You could count out how many are hidden as your child pulls them out of the slime. Or sort the objects by color or types. The possibilities are endless with this one.

Look at that awesome bilateral coordination practice of using both hands together and crossing midline to pull apart the slime. My mama Occupational Therapy heart loves it! Relieve stress and discover our one of a kind relaxing, satisfying ASMR experience, including tens of different ASMR sounds and sensations.Create super realistic slime and play with it on your mobile device. Relax your mind and discover our unique ASMR experience. Stretch your slime, squish it, knead it, pop it - just like you would with real slime or putty. Enjoy that oddly satisfying feeling right from your phone or tablet. We’ll start with the basics. Slime feels so pleasantly goopy, and it’s just plain fun to plunge your hands in, squeeze it through your fingers, and pull and poke. The fact that it’s somewhat solid yet sort of a liquid makes slime so intriguing to physically play with. Little else in life has quite the same consistency, making for an interesting sensory experience. Satisfying 3D Sounds: Turn up the volume and listen to your slime squishing as you touch it. For best experience, use a headphones set. I’m a HUGE fan of play-dough and write about our best ever, natural play dough recipe often, as well as developing loads of other sensory play recipes over the years too! But one sensory play recipe I had always been keen to try but never had the right ingredients for here in the UK was slime. I loved the idea of the super stretchy, elastic sensory play material but the only UK recipe I could find included a washing detergent as a key ingredient, but this is not something I’m keen to let my kids touch! This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Hobby Lobby. The opinions and text are all mine.

My daughter wanted to use glitter and butterfly confetti for her first attempt. We also made a pink slime with food coloring later on. After adding the eye drop mixture, it turned into this amazing stretchy slime that was so fun to pull apart. I made this part of the slime just to be safe, since my daughter in four. If you have an older children, they may be able to help with this part, but always supervise. Be a slime DIY artist! Create your very own slime. Making and playing with slime is a huge fad with school aged kids at the moment and there are some creative child YouTubers now showing all sorts of amazing variations to this classic play idea!We kept our slime in plastic bags after we were done playing with it. It does harden up and tends to break, so you may need to kneed it again and it might not be as stretchy. But since it is so easy and fast to make, I plan on just making it as we want to play with it and only keeping it a day or two past that. 5 Hands-On Ways to Play with Slime You will have just created the most elastic, stretchy and wonderfully satisfying slime! Woo hooooo! Have you seen all the slime recipes floating around online recently? It seems slime is really popular right now. And I'm always up for a good sensory play recipe to try with my daughter. So when Hobby Lobby asked if I would team up with them to create some slime and share about it, I jumped at the opportunity. Plus, who doesn't love shopping at Hobby Lobby? My daughter and I found these 5 fun and hands-on ways to play with slime. I think she could play with it for hours! Thanks for sharing! We had scheduled play dough making for a homeschool activity. I found that a lot of playdoughs that are homemade just haven’t been turning out right. Too dry etc. I think my kiddos will be much more interested in slime. Today in the car we listened to a science podcast about slime and then I stumbled upon this! Thanks for the great ideas. Will give this a try!
