About this deal

The Hogwarts crest has the symbols of the four Hogwarts houses, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. It might also be possible (though quite unlikely) that the Sorting Hat simply sorted anyone with ill intentions into Slytherin, regardless of whether they possessed cunning and ambition, which helped to unfairly give this house a bad name. Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle were both incredibly stupid and did not have clever or cunning minds, but were still sorted into Slytherin. They could have possessed one of the minor traits as even Peter Pettigrew was not placed into Gryffindor for bravery, but for chivalry instead.

But there’s more to Slytherin House than meets the eye, and one of the key symbols of Slytherin is the house crest. JK Rowling, the author of the book, revealed that the hogwort plant inspired the name of her fictional school. According to her, she saw the plant at Kew Gardens in the United Kingdom. The Hogwort plant is an annual herb native to the eastern part of the United States. Member of the House of Gaunt. Eventually became the Dark witch of Hag's Glen and parental guardian of Isolt Sayre. Killed by William the Pukwudgie in the Duel at Ilvermorny. [40] The Hogwarts Express is a train that carries pupils non-stop from Platform 9 + 3⁄ 4 at King's Cross station in London to Hogsmeade Station, near Hogwarts. Prefects of the school ride in a separate carriage near the front of the train. The compartments on the train appear to be lettered; in Half-Blood Prince, the "Slug Club" meets in compartment C. From there, first-year students are accompanied by the "Keeper of the Keys, Game and Grounds" (which was Rubeus Hagrid during the first novel) to small boats, which magically sail across the lake and get them near the entrance of Hogwarts. The older students ride up to the castle in carriages pulled by creatures called Thestrals. When the first-year students initially arrive at the castle, they wait in a small chamber off the entrance hall until the older students have taken their seats, and then enter the Great Hall for the Sorting Ceremony to determine their House assignments. As Professor Minerva McGonagall said in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, "The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your House will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your House, sleep in your House dormitory, and spend free time in your House common room."Several model trains have been made of the Hogwarts Express. An 00 gauge is produced by Hornby, though this is of a Castle Class locomotive rather than the Hall Class used in the films. A three-rail H0 gauge model is produced by Märklin, and a two-rail H0/00 was produced in the early 2000s by Bachmann. Several now-discontinued L gauge models have been produced by LEGO. Lionel has released an O gauge set in their 2007 catalogue and a G gauge set for 2008. [27] [28]

When you reach the giant squid, and have to make it break the large stone arch, during the cut scene of the arch breaking, you can see the next shell in the bottom of the screen.JK Rowling, through her Harry Potter series, brought Hogwarts to millions of fans worldwide. Hogwarts is a unique school for children with the pure blood of magic. While traveling from Manchester to London, Rowling got the idea to write about the Harry Potter series.

That would be red for Gryffindor, green for Slytherin, orange for Hufflepuff and finally blue for Ravenclaw. Slytherin corresponded roughly with the element of water due to serpents being commonly associated with the sea and lochs in western European mythology, as well as serpents being physically fluid and flexible animals. [5] Similarly, in Celtic mythology, water is seen as a portal to another world, leading some to believe that the element was chosen to symbolise a Slytherin's dream for a world in which their goals and ambitions had finally been achieved. Others speculate that it was chosen to symbolise many Slytherins' hope for a pureblood-only wizarding society. J. K. Rowling stated in a PotterCast interview that some Slytherins were among the reinforcements brought by Slughorn during the Battle of Hogwarts. Then, we filled in the section behind each animal with the color of their respective Hogwarts house.
