About this deal

Upon reading the sign, Tyrice grew beet red and stomped his foot. “You leave my father out of this; you don’t know what he’s been through!”

Orbit is thrilled to announce that we’ve acquired the hilarious and sexy Mead Mishaps series from author Kimberly Lemming ! Originally self-published, these fantasy romance novels full of handsome demons, dragons, and shapeshifters, irreverent heroines, capital -“ S”-spice, and laugh out loud humor are perfect for fans of Legends & Lattes and Katee Robert. I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into this but it was a hell of a ride. I had such a fantastic time! And just when she thinks she sees hope on the horizon, that hope is smashed to bits by—you guessed it—another damn dragon. Who wouldnt’t want to go off on a grand adventure with a bunch of hot heroes also chosen by the gooddess?

Only after all this does he ask if she wants to be "forced" by him. To which she agrees. So like, we're in the dub-con lite department. But alllllll of what I listed above happened before any consent asking, and while both verbal and bodily non-consent were being given. Spice trader Cinnamon’s quiet life is turned upside down when she ends up on a quest with a fiery demon in this irreverently quirky rom-com fantasy that is sweet, steamy, and funny as hell—perfect for fans of Legends & Lattes and The Dragon’s Bride .The writing is sooo easy to read and incredibly witty. Very lighthearted read with wonderful characters, and the pacing was great! It didn’t feel rushed, and it wasn’t slow; It was the perfect pace for the plot (and the romance!). The language is very modern despite it being fantasy. Which isn't inherently bad, it can actually be fun and nice. Buuuut this was just a little too over the top for me. It was less fun and more "omg I'm so random and quirky" vibe for me. umm... the side characters. First of all, Cin's family grows spices and her brothers' names are Cumin and Chili (they had another sister named Cherry who was killed😞), and her best friend's name is Brie and guess what kind of job her family does? LOL, they have a dairy farm and make cheese🤣. Like.. this is GOLD!!! 🤣 we have lots of other side characters which I adored The demon, whose name is Fallon and who usually takes the form of a very attractive man with horns growing from his head, needs Cin to go with him to find all of Myva’s temples and break her enchanted goblets, thus ending her powers. So they go do that, and human/demon romance develops along the way along with a lot of steamy foreplay and, eventually, explicit sex. After saving the demon Fallon in a wine-drunk stupor, all Fallon wants to do is kill an evil witch enslaving his people. And, who can blame him? But he’s dragging Cinnamon along for the ride. On the bright side, at least he keeps burning off his shirt.

The epilogue: her family just accepts her marriage to Fallon with open arms, even tho last time they saw him he threatened them all to get Cin to go with him... aight, sure, if you say so. the world-building. I enjoyed it; I found this easy to understand (unlike some more convoluted worlds I've read) Her village worships a goddess who protects them from beings of a demon realm. Then a demon pops into existence on her farm and reveals the truth to her: The goddess is actually an evil lich aiding in the enslavement of the peaceful demon race. Cin and her new demon boyfriend go on a little trip to undo the lich’s magic and liberate the demons. I was genuinely looking forward to this. That cover had me immediately in love. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to my hopes :/the🔥. It's on the slow-burn side (kissing and touching in the 30s%, 💦 exchanges at almost 60%, and full-on 🔥by 74%👀. Fallon purposely makes her wait, so when they finally do it, it's 🥵. Plus, he loves how she tastes 👀; can't get better than that😉🤷🏻‍♀️ The thought of an epic adventure sounded great when it was in books-but that’s where I wanted it to stay. In real life, those life had terrible consequences.” Punto. Gracias Marie por recomendarmelos.

Overall, I think this is a great book, a mix of lighthearted romcom, a fun quest, and SPICE!! I would definitely recommend this! nachos!!! 'nuff said 🤣 (also... Cin gives up her nachos to help the werewolf/Felix gain straight 🤣 SEE! So charitable and selfless 🥹) I did this as buddy read and I think that made reading this a more fun experience. My buddy also mentioned how much more impactful it might've been, if we got some POVs from the "heroes" along the way. It would've built the tension of these two forces meeting, would've shown how the conflicted looked from their sides. Oh well, that was not to be.Kimberly Lemming is a new-to-me author that I have just fallen in love with and will be reading every single book published by her! Now, I 100% dubcon as a trope and kink. I just don't want to be sidelined by it. So use some content warnings in the future, please. Fallon…FALLON!!!!! The beautiful shifter/ dragon! He was so protective of her, he was like WHO DID THIS TO YOU, and I’LL KILL WHOEVER TOUCHES YOU. UGHH, i love a protective mmc! All she wanted to do was live her life in peace—maybe get a cat, expand the family spice farm. Really, anything that didn’t involve going on an adventure where an orc might rip her face off. But they say the Goddess has favorite, and if so, Cin is clearly not one of them… Oh. Bandit rapists. How cliche. I couldn't even pretend to be surprised. Every adventure book I've ever read had at least one scene where the hero dashingly defeats a group of bandits.
