About this deal

In 1575 the Bols family opened their distillery t Lootsje ( the little shed) in Amsterdam. The distillery was located outside the city walls on the post road to Haarlem, situated next to a stream. By 1612 the city's walls had expanded to encompass the distillery, and the stream was dug out into a canal called the Rozengracht because of rose nurseries in the area. Around the same time, a new stone building was constructed to house the distillery. The first official mention is in 1640 in Amsterdam town papers, where Pieter Jacobszoon Bols is documented as operator of t Lootsje on the Rozengracht. In 1868 the firm was acquired by the Moltzer family who continued to expand the company with their strong marketing skills and a focus on making Bols an acclaimed international brand. Aviation is produced in Portland, Oregon, by House Spirits Distillery. It is distilled from neutral grain spirit with 100 percent rye base, an unusual beginning in the gin market. It's flavored with juniper, anise seed, Elettaria cardamom, coriander, lavender, sweet orange peel, and sarsaparilla. It, too, is slightly overproofed, bottled at 42 percent ABV (84 proof), so it's not as delicate as it's often made out to be. If you look at the list of botanicals in Bombay Sapphireyou will notice a few differences from other London dry gins. Grains of paradise, almond, and cubeb berries are not your average gin ingredients and they help this bottle stand apart from the crowd.

In 2016 to 2019, there was a 5.6% loss in Lucas Bols, leading to less profitability of shareholders. Whatever the type of jenever, the process will consist of at least two distillates. The first one is a triple-distillation similar to whisky. The chosen ingredients is the deciding factor of what type of jenever is being made. For instance, a predominantly malt grain distillate will result in Oude Jenever.
