About this deal

Most well-established stand mixer brands, such as Kenwood and KitchenAid, will have a wide range of spare parts available. Perhaps what stands out most about the kMix KMX75 is how simple it is to use – much like its sibling, the KMX760. It comes with clear, easy-to-understand instructions, which makes its a great buy for baking beginners; but how it fits together and works is fairly intuitive. I particularly liked the stainless steel beater and dough hook; the KitchenAid Artisan 4.8L Stand Mixer beater and dough hook have a white enamel coating that can chip away over time. Yes all Kmix models are dish washer safe, the bowl can be comfortably be washed in a dishwasher and so are the attachments. What to Focus on When Looking for a Stand Mixer A handle on the side of the (relatively heavy) 5L stainless steel mixing bowl is much appreciated, as is the impressive Soft Start feature that prevents the mixer whisking or beating the mixture wildly if you turn it up to a high speed. Instead, the smart speed control keeps our ingredients firmly in the bowl by building up the speed gradually.

Nevertheless, the overall mixing performance, as well as the gentle folding setting and the “soft start” function make the KMX760 a pleasure to use. Kenwood kMix Chrome Collection Stand Mixer KMX760 – What you need to know The key difference between Kenwood Kmix 750 and 760 is that the Kmix 760 is the newer variant of the Kmix range that has a glass bowl while the 750 has a stainless steel bowl. The 750 does not have any pulse function (this is the function you can press to accelerate or decelerate the mixing according to how you want the mixing to progress). What is the Difference Between kmix 750 vs 754 vs 760 The splash guard is innovative and very effective, and while it's heavy, the owl means you can keep a knowing eye on your bakes as they mix. I also enjoyed the range of speeds, and how powerful they can be if you turn them up high. If you wanted to make a meringue, it would be perfect. About this review, and the reviewerHowever, unlike the main unit, there's no carry handle on the water tank - which can be a bit of a pain. Or y ou can use the supplied hose for continuous drainage rather than faffing about emptying the tank. After the Zambezi is turned off, the fan will run for about 10 minutes (which confused us at first). This is to ensure the heating element cools down fully, which extends the lifespan of the device. Smart stuff...

The gold version of the kMix stand mixer I tested isn’t for shrinking violets; it’s a statement. In its shininess, it’s reminiscent of Daft Punk’s famous helmets – only with more gold and with some stainless steel thrown in for good measure, too.The beater is ideal for cake batter, as well as anything that requires folding or rubbing fat into flour. The whisk is perfect for egg whites and cream, while the dough hook is for kneading bread. The Chrome KMIX 760 is fairly silent as stand mixers go, with no discernable ratting while at high speeds with lots of combinations in the bowl. The instant turn-off if the mixer head is lifted plus non-slip base are good safety precautions. The Kenwood kMix Chrome Collection Stand Mixer KMX760 – It comes in four luxuriously shiny finishes that are a magnet for fingerprints A standard beater with a flexible spatula advantage on one side. Perfect for scraping down the sides of the bowl after mixing. Ensure your selected model comes with all the accessories you will need, to save you from investing much more cash on additional tools. It is also well worth searching out for these additional features:

The sturdy machine will no doubt handle anything you can throw at it, but does its performance - and the shiny metallic finish - justify the premium price for this Chrome Collection kMix? What's it like?Kneading – Starting with butter and flour at minimum speed, then adding other ingredients and finally kneading at speed setting 2, the mixer produced a nicely kneaded dough in only 6 minutes. However, 2 minutes at setting 2 didn’t distribute dried fruit entirely evenly. There are marks between each of the numbers, but stopping at those made no difference to mixing speed.

The transparent, plastic splashguard is another useful addition, especially as it comes with a pouring chute so we don't have to stop the mixer and remove the guard to add more ingredients - which anyone who bakes can agree is a massive annoyance. When adding messy items like flour, a little door on the chute also closes so there's no splashes or puffs of dry ingredients escaping. Min” and “max” are speed settings in their own right, with “max” handy for whipping egg whites and cream, and “min” suitable for starting off floury mixtures.

The smart Speed Control – smoothly and carefully increases speed without creating the spillage of ingredients, especially when blending in flour.
