About this deal

If you pay tax by self-assessment and haven't yet submitted your tax return for the 2017/18 tax year, there's not much time left. All the announced (and unannounced) 2021 OLED models feature the ‘6’ suffix, so the OLED705 lead us to imagine it has more in common with the 2020 TVs.

There are no upward-firing drivers for the Dolby Atmos audio but this is still very much positioned as the best AV solution and involves the top B&W TV sound on the market. The soundbar is built more like three individual speakers. The enclosures are isolated and feature decoupled tweeters (in the case of the right and left drivers) or the trademark 'tweeter-on-top' set up for the middle. On the rear is a digital audio out (optical), a USB, Ethernet, satellite, antenna and two HDMI ports. While the HDMI ports support ARC, there’s no eARC or HDMI 2.1 support on this TV. As with the 986, it still comes with all the features and modes that Philips can muster this year. That includes HDMI 2.1 ports, HDR10+ Adaptive, four-sided Amblight and the all-new Philips Home Cinema picture preset. After a few years of 55- and 65-inch OLEDs, 2020 saw the introduction of a s maller 48-inch model and for 2021 Philips will release a 77-inch model.

At the bottom of the range is the 7506. It boasts a better specification than the 7906 in a few respects, evident by the P5 Perfect Engine processor, DTS Play-Fi, as well as HDMI 2.1 support in VRR, eARC and ALLM.

Disney+ subscription required. Subject to terms at https://www.disneyplus.com (c) 2020 Disney and its related entities. Disney+ is available in selected languages and countries.
