About this deal

Santi’s sister, Maya Alatorre, just graduated from university and has opted to accompany her brother in the Formula One season. But she hadn’t expected her brother’s teammate, the dangerous bad boy of racing, to fall in love with her. She starts vlogging her F1 adventure, recording race after race and each new location she visits because she has no job.

He closes the gap between us and grabs me like the good old days. His fists tighten around my race suit, eyes barely concealing the rage that bubbles within. I can tell he battles between hitting me and verbally sparring with me. Honestly, this was spicier than the love hypothesis and the hating game combined, we get 3-4 amazing sex scenes, they are pretty explicit as well. The dirty talk was awesome and not cringy at all. Rowan exudes BDE and I liked the way he talked to her. Anyways, lazy recommendation aside...I came into this with the right set of expectations because I knew this was a romcom.Since we have established a bit of the setting and the characters, let me list a bit of the stuff that I absolutely couldn't stand. Book Genre: Adult, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance, Fiction, New Adult, Racing, Romance, Sports, Sports Romance The only good part about this book was that the hero went to therapy. Most manwhores usually have commitment and trust issues but they NEVER go to therapy. So, I am glad Noah did before he tried to be in a serious relationship with Maya.

Like Lauren’s other books that I’ve read, there is great character develop from both Noah and Maya as Noah has a lot of personal stuff that he’s molded him into the person he is now for better or worse, and Maya just grows up a lot given everything that she goes through. Lauren’s account of Maya’s vlogging is so fascinating that you feel like watching her record all the interviews, games, and action. I’d watch Maya Alatorre’s vids religiously if she were real! Her friendship with Sophie is on par with any fictional company I’ve read. Review Family history, secrets, loss, marriage, betrayal, friendship, laughter, and regrets. Throttled by Lauren Asher is a heartfelt novel written with compassion and hope, combining the past to open the way to happiness and second chances. This might be a reach, but this book also was very similar to Off Campus. Noah was kind of like Garret. Similar dad issues. An athlete. His three other friends. Never wanted more until THE girl. It seemed like the deal, but the race car version. She is so much not like the other girls that she's twenty-three and she mentally praises herself every time she plans two seconds into the future.

the only thing i liked was how noah went to therapy instead of getting 'fixed' by maya but let's face it, lauren asher probably took that idea from one of those tiktoks that give unsolicited advice on how to make your partner fall in love with you. Lauren also does a great job of the relationship development with of Maya and Noah as they are both complex people with completely different personalities and outlooks on life itself. This was about a F1 Racer, Noah and Maya his teammates sister. This was a bit of a forbidden romance since Santigo, Maya’s brother, hates Noah. This also had the cliches of an manwhore athlete as the hero and the family-oriented woman as the heroine. It had very typical romance tropes but again it was so bad. I really needed some romance as I'm currently reading a lot for school at the moment. I was invested with Noah and Maya and they had some really sweet moments. Some of their witty banter was great, some fell a little bit flat for me.

I will still read Terms and Conditions, cause I already bought it and I kinda have to. I'm petty and don't want to waste my money, excuse the fact that I already did but yeah... it just needed so much refinement. for real, someone needs to get Lauren Asher and editor. and if she already has one they need to be fired. Likes: almost nothing except for her sister and her sisters boyfriend plus the Jane Austen references. In the beginning it was pretty funny and I was happy , it’s a real shame . The vlogger princess from Spain. Maya Alatorre is a fiery Latina who is sarcastic, strong-willed, and opinionated. Her devotion to her family was very moving but the suppression of her wild side was saddening. She holds her ground and manages her own life, but her desire for Noah puts her relationship with Santi in jeopardy. Maya maintains her connection with Noah hidden, snatching kisses and short moments, fearful of her brother’s response. I mean, it isn’t anything groundbreaking or new when it comes to the romance genre but does it need to be? Not necessarily.

This guy just disgusts me so much. So we start off with a scene showing how much his parents hate him, and him being rude to them, and that is basically the only event that happens in this book. The author did not even develop the fAmIlY dRaMa much, just Noah's dad came and slapped him a couple of times and that was that. His dad being a terrible person with cold Arctic eyes was the only plot in this book and I cannot look past that. Found tons of additional descriptors in their dialogue which I felt like ruined the delivery. For example, “There’s a shit ton of smoke coming from the car, making it hard to breathe.” When read in context of the chapter, I feel like dropping that last part would have made it more charged, except it read as internal thoughts and not the descriptor dialogue it was meant for. This is as much romance as it is somewhat diving into their world as race car drivers, which is obviously the entire appeal of Noah Slade. The sarcastic, successful jerk who the media dubs as a playboy who takes no shit from anyone. One of the things that I liked, except Ani, was the texting interactions between the two main characters. That shined on Rowan's character more. It did bring more colors to the mundane romance.
