About this deal

This mold might have been planned for a redeco into Sports Label Starscream, but that's a bit vague. Once again thanks to Nimama’s Transformers Facebook we have our first in-hand images of the recently revealed Transformers R.E.D. Transformers Prime Optimus Prime & Megatron. This sculpt was also redecod for the third wave of Go-Bots to become Frenzy, and later still into the 2001 Robots in Disguise Spychanger Hot Shot.

For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. In a fit of madness, a triple changer was proposed that would switch between Skywarp (possibly mistaken for Starscream), Megatron, and Skywarp's jet mode. Hero Megatron was designed with articulation in mind, so he is loaded with multiple swivel and universal joints, giving him far greater movement compared to his original Generation 2 toy. However, it's really just friction that keeps his joints tight and his parts together in vehicle mode (no pegs or clips) so after a bit of time and play, he turns pretty floppy. The joints connecting his biceps to his shoulders are also reportedly easy to break due to overly-tight tolerances, so caution is advised. The original version of this mold was use to make Archforce and 2001 Robots in Disguise Bludgeon (which has been repurposed to also be Shattered Glass Bludgeon) and Yellow Megatron. This mold was also used, with different heads and accessories, to make the other Transformers GT toys: GT-R Prime, GT-R Saber, and GT-R Maximus. His cannon can plug into the short barrel of the tank turret or the rifle/Headmaster vehicle weapon. In an undocumented additional feature, the rifle can be inserted into the front end of the cannon. The cannon can be mounted on his forearm or held by any figure with 5mm hands. It also has a peg hole that an accessory such as his rifle can plug into, with extra square peg holes specifically to hold the rifle in place. The same images were later shown at BotCon 2005. Sadly, photography was not allowed at either panel the toy was shown at. Released in conjunction with Japanese cellphone maker au, [5] au x Transformers INFOBAR Megatron is a retool of the same line's INFOBAR Optimus Prime, with a new head and decoed in traditional Megatron colors.

Accessories: Left and right fists, translucent right fist, gun barrel (opaque and translucent), saluting right hand (opaque and translucent), "Laser Vulcan", stand, die-cast Megatron Gun accessory (Asia reissue) The toy suffers from a number of unusual shortcomings, and proved a rather hefty shelfwarmer. Notably, due to a large number of design flaws, it is known to fall apart very easily, with the crotch coming undone with minimal force and the arms and legs often popping off over the course of basic transformation or even movement. In particular, the lower body is attached to the torso by very thin open clips, unsuited for holding up the weight of entirely die-cast legs, and the lower arms, which need to be pulled out, are extremely liable to disconnect from their balljoints rather than extending properly. Many of the joints are also extremely loose, owing to both poor construction and the excessive weight of the limbs.

Accessories: Sword, "high-density infrared laser cannon", 20 bullets, targeting sight/fusion cannon

Accessories: Fusion cannon, energon mace, energy dagger, laser pistol, Kremzeek figure, Reflector figure The Kreon Class of 1984 version of Megatron is even more toy-based tampographs than his prior versions, including his face detailing. Yes, it's a whole new tampograph layout. He's also mostly in metallic silver plastic, yet his helmet remains light flat gray.

Product Added

He features two 5mm-compatible hands, and his head is made out of a slightly soft, rubbery plastic. Like Starscream, he actually has elbows, and like all Authentics toys, Megatron features sculpted insignias on his chest and the sole of his right foot; the latter is visible in tank mode while the former is visible in robot mode. I wrote another review for the Starscream and Bumblebee that match up with these so here's the good for these two.

In a slightly more sane attempt, another triple changer was proposed which would switch between Megatron, a very awkward Galvatron, and a Walther P-38 handgun with a futuristic silencer and laser sight. Optimus prime doesn't come with a gun. Again, why? They did this with the Bumblebeeas well and it makes no sense. Despite the change to the toy's colors, the box art on this set, the same art used for the Hasbro releases, was recolored to match the blue of the previous releases. Whoops. Sold only at discount chains like Family Dollar, this version of Megatron uses the new 2015 style of Kreon hips and torso, with a hollow hip-peg and a central post inside the torso for increased grip... which also makes them incompatible with about four years' worth of Kreons. He also features entirely new face and chest tampographs. So version number four of the same base design.

Yuki]: That is right. (*laughs) I was not assigned to be in charge of it initially, but due to the circumstance within the company I was unexpectedly handed down the project. The schedule came with it and I was stunned when I realised that I was only given 12 days, about 2 weeks...To make it worse, at the time of my receiving the task, even the product size wasn't decided. (*tears)
