Granted, he's a little out of line. The profumo sovereign and masculine with its frankincense sea note in the base, the EdT Spray or Essenza as a fresh counterpart. However, despite its versatility, the fragrance might not be suited for all seasons. Its prominent woody and citrusy notes work wonderfully in the freshness of spring and the crisp air of fall, but they might feel a bit out of place in the heat of summer or the chill of winter. It’s not really a mature scent, but not one that would only appeal to teenagers or college guys. I’m not sure that I’d wear this one on a formal occasion, but it would fit for everything else, no problem. Skews younger, but a cologne that can get a lot of use for that demographic.

Parfumul incearca sa faca lucrurile mai interesante prin adaugarea unor detalii olfactive pentru a „murdari” acordul iteratiei anterioare, realizand acest obiectiv cu unele note de lemn sintetic cu adevarat abraziv, care au aparut separat pe niveluri tolerabile in alte parfumuri de nisa. Let’s start with the bottle of Havas; such an eye-pleasing bottle I must tell you. What a mesmerizing purple juice color with a heavy metal cap.Now the question remains: Did Armani do himself a favor by adding Absolu Instinct to his Acqua di Gio series? With its predecessor Absolu, the company has already thrown a product expansion onto the market, which is intended to attract a broader range of customers with its sweet-woody character. Absolu Instinct continues this but for my taste more mature and elegant. And yet I don't really know if the word "Acqua" really fits. Both Absolus are not aquatic-fresh enough for me. I don't have the maritime classic AdG DNA. She flashes at most briefly at the opening. I really hope for Armani that they will not overdo it with (potential) future product extensions of their Acqua di Gio range, otherwise I fear the AdG range will be exhausted very soon. In 2018, Giorgio Armani released Acqua di Gio Absolu to be another flanker of Acqua di Gio. However, with the creation of Alberto Morillas, it became more than a flanker. Invictus Aqua (2018) is a flanker of Invictus but it has the most similarities with Acqua di Gio Absolu. The seaweed effect is key. Another comparison is relevant: Creed. Absolu Instinct is far less seaweed than Amnesia by X-Ray or Oud Minérale by Tom Ford, and far more ambergris as in Hermes’ Eau des Merveilles. Although the animalic, furry and honey facets of ambergris are absent, as would be expected for a commercial release, the material’s flip side is evoked with flair, conjuring a cold mineral wind straight off the Atlantic. It is with this accord that clear parallels can be made to Silver Mountain Water, Erolfa and Millésime Imperial; not to say that they smell the same, but that a Creed-like signature is woven into the Acqua di Giò fabric to make the citrus and woods glisten with effervesce. The combination of sea notes and seaweed will remind you of the sea. It gets much saltier in the middle.

Nevertheless, the fragrance has a lot to offer, at least for fans of fancy synthetics: a distinctive blend of sweetish citric, soft aquatic, aromatic spice and a little wood in a fairly linear flow. Yes, it has something ... but not for me ;-) Nevertheless, there's no denying that the fragrance smells quite good after about 2.5 hours, and after another one I'd even give it a 7.5 because it becomes milder, softer and more harmonious. But while it already starts to recede from half arm length to very close, this Armani says goodbye after 5 hours at the latest even on my most durable shirt into projection-off (that's why the currently relatively high H+S values of the community of up to 7.5 are a mystery to me). The heart of the perfume is unmistakably patchouli, which provides an earthy and slightly spicy contrast to the invigorating citrus-marine opening. This middle note grounds the fragrance, adding a layer of depth that is both intriguing and memorable.I have longed for Armanis Acqua di Gio Absolu Instinct for a long time after I had seen numerous videos of American perfume you tubers. The first impressions and tests at that time were positive through the bank away and so my expectations of this release were accordingly high. Dark wood notes paired with the AdG DNA were then said in the videos so more or less - that sounds like a perfume for the evening. Finally, I also see it as an evening scent for cooler days.

Basically, the fragrance gets better and better throughout the whole process, albeit slowly, and especially from the second hour. Although the synthetic is still present then, it is no longer disturbing, or even shapes the scent character in a positive sense. The now clear aquatic character enters into a harmonious symbiosis with the unusual spice citric of the Wanted mixture. Very extraordinary, and therefore at least worth testing for all those who like rich aquatic as well as aromatic synthetic scents like Wanted. Because the combination of these two directions is really unusual, even if not mine. You will receive a longevity of 6 to 7 hours. And the sillage of Invictus has a beast start. However, it does not stay like that for the whole journey. It becomes moderate after a while. You can still expect a good projection from it, though. I am not surprised by the better rating compared to the predecessor Absolu. Nevertheless, I consider the predecessor to be too badly rated. But the tastes are very subjective, especially for perfumes! It also has an earthy tone from the patchouli with the presence of wood. The patchouli is not too dominating but it makes the fragrance more alluring. In deschiderea parfumului exista ADN-ul flankerului Acqua di Gio Pour Homme (1996), cu dihidromircenol si bergamot inmuiate cu un aspect marin sarat. Timpul total de tranzitie intre toate aceste note olfactive este mai mic de 5 minute, oferind un miros liniar si usor cliseic. Padurea sintetica ataca cu o furie pe care nemaivazuta in niciun parfum pentru el de la Giorgio Armani. Este similar cu Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle „Monsieur” (2016). Ca multe dintre cele mai indraznete parfumuri Tom Ford, mirosul acestui flanker prezinta o tenta abraziva si dura. Lemnul ambrat netezeste suficient celelalte note, oferindu-i un caracter casual si lejer.

The charm of the fruity notes decreases from the opening, and the ambergris becomes heavy to maximize the salty tone of the fragrance. It enhances the aquatic side of the cologne. Whether I recommend a test, well... you have to know that for yourself. Actually, I would rather say no and prefer to reach for Essenza or Profumo instead. But on the other hand some of you might like this one a lot, so, yes test :D

Acqua di Giò Absolu Instinct was released in 2019 right after a year of Acqua di Giò Absolu. As the name says, these two fragrances have a lot in common. Armani was once a bold and visionary house, particularly on the men’s side; and then, suddenly, it wasn’t. Launches such as 1996’s Acqua di Giò and 2004’s Code anchored the direction of scent development for up to a decade after their release.

If you want an intense or darker version of Acqua di Giò Absolu, this one is for you. The opening is fresh and aquatic like Absolu but the citrusy notes are more prominent. Even the woody tone is much more noticeable than in Absolu. The performance is still acceptable for a designer fragrance. It is just "only an eau de toilette" I personally would have expected something more, because the fragrance creation with the durability is not in proportion. The bottle is really nicely made, beside the Profumo bottle for me the most elegant, above all the golden writing on dark brown glass. It’s closest comparisons are that Invictus, Profondo, the original AdG, and I guess Absolu Instinct (but I haven’t tried that out).
