This extra space will prevent the risk of burning your seedling as you experiment with the ideal PPFD. You could move these lights down to as close as 12" during flowering as long as your leaves can resist.

It is a bit annoying to use the dimmable feature as you have to remove a silicon plug on its base and use a screwdriver to adjust the power output. Not a deal-breaker as this is fairly standard with quantum board technology. For the most part owners of the Mars Hydro TS 1000 and TSW 2000 grow lights have good things to say about their experiences. A few have mentioned that their lights run a bit warm since there aren’t any fans on the light. Those people reported that adding a fan to their grow tent resolved the issue.
