About this deal

We don’t see this effect in the Xiaomi 11T Pro, which uses the same Samsung HM2 sensor. The ISP may be to blame. This is the image signal processor, which is part of the Snapdragon 695 chipset. Its Spectra 346T ISP is weaker than the MI 11T Pro’s and, more notably, the Spectra 350 of the Redmi Note 10 Pro — even though it has a triple ISP to the last-gen phone’s dual ISP.

Powered by a Helio G96 SoC, which is marketed as a gaming processor by MediaTek, the Redmi Note 11 Pro delivers satisfying performance in everyday use, thanks to its Mali G57 GPU and the option of up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Although it does not have 5G capabilities, it offers ample internal storage of up to 128 GB, which can be expanded with a microSD card. Redmi Note 11 Pro: Price UK It would have been nice to get more than a small boost to performance, faster charging and 5G connectivity this time around. Meanwhile, the Note 11 Pro 5G’s camera has actually regressed in certain respects. Change your airtime tariff after 30 days and then once every billing month during your minimum contract period, choosing from a selected family of tariffs. Some tariff extras are only available on the starting tariff, are not transferable, and may be lost if you change to an ineligible tariff. Devices are subject to availability.

It’s a similar advantage in the GPU stakes, with our suite of GFXBench tests revealing the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G to be a cut above its rivals. Its superiority is comfortable rather than night and day, but it’s definitely got more potential as a budget gaming device than most of its peers. The Xiaomi Redmi 11 Pro 5G is the successor to what might just be my favourite phone of last year, the Redmi Note 10 Pro. There’s a fingerprint sensor mounted in an appreciably long and flat power button located two-thirds of the way up the right-hand edge. I found it to be reasonably reliable, if not the speediest I’ve used.

In 2021, Xiaomi broke some records in the mid-range market with the Redmi Note 10 Pro. In 2022, the manufacturer reserved its exciting innovations for the new Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G. And although the Note 11 Pro model might not be an eye-catcher for nerds, it performs really well in everyday use. Perfectly Imperfect The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G can still play demanding games well enough, though. But Fortnite is limited to basic graphics settings at 30fps, and titles that actually let you use settings outside the capability of your phone – ARK: Survival Evolved, for example –will chug if you make the visuals look too nice. Fortunately, things are better in terms of battery life, with the 5,000mAh cell going the distance and eclipsing every other phone in our test other than the freak-of-nature endurance of the Moto G50, which somehow managed an extra five hours. It’s also worth pointing out that Xiaomi has given us 5G connectivity with this year’s model, which always seemed like a bit of an omission with the Redmi Note 10 Pro here in the UK. The ultrawide doesn’t fare anywhere near as well as the main shooter, either. At 8MP, it simply doesn’t have access to the same raw information as the main sensor, and neither the lens nor Xiaomi’s AI are sufficiently advanced to prevent noise and distortions from creeping in at the edges. More problematically, the tone of the ultrawide is completely different to the main sensor. But again, the Nokia G50 has a very slight edge with a touch more detail (look at the triangular light to the right of the plant), and the increased contrast makes for an overall more pleasing shot. It took a couple of minutes under an hour to get to full, but there may be an explanation. The phone’s screen kept on waking during charging, as the phone switched between “charging” and “fast charging” states – which seems like a bug. Even if the phone decides to switch to slower charging because of battery temperature, a sensible enough move, there’s no need to constantly wake the screen up to do so. There are mitigating factors, of course. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G’s screen is lovely, the speakers are good. You can simply get phones much better suited to the job of playing games if that is your top priority. Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G software Our testing days with the phone have mostly been pretty heavy, and we almost exclusively used the 120Hz mode. While we didn’t have masses of charge left by the end of each day, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is suitable for all the heavy users out there. Fortnite plays at up to 30fps with reasonable solidity, apart from the usual drop as fresh assets are loaded. However, you can only run it at medium settings, meaning it just doesn’t look quite as good as it does on a more powerful phone.

What is the difference between the Xiaomi Redmi 11 Note vs. Xiaomi Redmi 11 Note Pro 5G? Collapsed link While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus gets all the perks of the non-Plus - and then some - it also inherits nearly all of that phone’s rough edges too, so it might not win over people who were on the fence about the other family members. The Redmi Note 11 has specs befitting its price: under the hood you get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. We recommend going for the 128GB option, although there is a microSDXC card slot as well for expanding the amount of room you've got for apps and files. This has very much been a review of two halves: on the one hand, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11’s design and screen are truly top-notch and a great example of how you make a phone on a budget. But its performance is inconsistent in benchmarks and it offers underwhelming 3D gaming potential compared to its rivals. Its cameras are okay, but you can do better for the money. Water/dust-resistance is IP53, sufficient to guard against a little rain – but not submersion in water. It’s typically solid stuff of the type I expect to see from a Xiaomi device at this level, and the speakers are a genuine highlight of the phone. MIUI is mainly an aesthetic change with design tweaks to app icons, menu layouts and more - you can probably get the gist of this from the pictures accompanying the review, but it’d be even better if you could get your hand on a Xiaomi phone to test it out. The rear glass has a smooth matte finish, with a subtle light-reactive layer – although Xiaomi’s photos suggest the blue version is a little more eye-catching.
