About this deal

Tiger Tape Zinc Oxide gives you that firm support for joints and muscles, providing restriction of movement or immobilisation, depending on the taping technique applied. This rigid sports tape is great for strapping the knees, ankles, elbows, shoulders, wrists, hands and fingers, providing a strong and secure hold so you FEEL READY to perform. Zinc oxide strapping is used quite a lot in sports and is essential to have in any pitchside sports first aid kit . Affordable. With the ability to last for several days, leukotape can save time and cost. Found at most drug stores.

Make a small hole at the edge with a sterilized pin or needle. Sterilized the pin by passing it through a flame. Another important sub category of these tapes is that consisting of porous tapes. These tapes have a construction that allows the athlete’s sweat to migrate through the material of the tape. A blister plaster is designed specifically to act as a second skin. Make sure they are warm and the foot dry before applying, but once they are on properly they should stay in place for 24 hours and be very effective. FeetApply strips of Leukotape over the susceptible area (ball of your foot, for example) and up either side ensuring that there are no creases or gaps to avoid friction. Note, do not circle the foot entirely as it could constrict your blood supply. If a blister pops, the skin underneath is exposed and it will not be able to heal. Even worse, if you have not resolved the friction that caused the blister in the first place, the blister will sometimes reform as a painful 'blister on a blister'.

I’ve had some great results from pre-taping my feet prior to long hikes and can now walk around 40 miles, confident that I won’t get blisters. Even on this year’s London2Brighton challenge where the weather conditions were appalling and I ended up wearing two pairs of unfamiliar shoes, I managed 57km feeling physically broken but with my feet still intact – not a single blister. My Blister Prevention Routine Often referred to as “finger tape” it is predominately used for fingers. This is most popular within martial arts, in particular BJJ where grappling is heavily involved. Unlike duct tape, moleskin or any other type of bandage, Leukotape has numerous advantages going for it: Always wash your hands before and after outings; take a sterilising gel to regattas. Dirt increases the rubbing which causes blisters.THERMAREST & MSR: Sale! 30% Off all MSR Tents and Thermarest Sleeping Bags including the award-winning Parsec 0! If you do get red or painful areas on your hands during an outing, try to loosen or change your grip to avoid a blister developing. It may be that the blister is so large that the pressure build up is painful and you feel you really need to pop it. Or, just as likely, you need to run for an event or training and it’s too painful. This is where there is an argument for ‘popping it’. When you run it’s quite likely it will pop anyway, so it may well be safer, and less painful to do this in a controlled, relatively sterile manner at home then you can then dress it afterwards. Or, you could go to your GP or Practice Nurse for them to aspirate and dress it. Again this would be sensible and what I would recommend in an ideal world. I do however know runners, and there is little chance they’d see their GP about a blister! If you do choose to pop your blister at home then wash the foot thoroughly first and use a sterile needle. To secure wound dressings in place, especially during sports action when those dressings could otherwise be displaced.
