About this deal

In the 1966-1970 parliament, Dewar would have been regarded as one to watch. In Scottish Labour circles, the dominant figure was the all-powerful Scottish secretary Willie Ross. For Prime Minister Harold Wilson, Ross and Labour in Scotland were one and the same thing and the man dubbed in party circles as the ‘king of Scotland’ was impressed by Dewar. We cover Holyrood, Westminster and local councils, with a current focus on how our governments are handling the coronavirus pandemic. Supporters of assisted suicide often argue that it can give those suffering from terminal conditions a more dignified death, allowing them to die at a time of their choosing.

I also want to thank the National Union of Mineworkers and the Retired Police Officers Association for their contributions to the review. And of course, my thanks go to the miners, police officers and other members of the mining communities who provided such powerful and personal accounts of their experiences of the strike. Provost's Award

But denial of the promotion, following a ruling that the club did not meet stadium criteria requirements, was branded by Mr Canavan as "an absolute disgrace", and one which threatened to bring the game into disrepute. Canavan famously quit Labour ahead of the first Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 after the party refused to select him as a candidate.

Dennis Andrew Canavan (born 8 August 1942) is a Scottish politician. He was the Member of Parliament for Falkirk West from 1974 to 2000 (known as West Stirlingshire from 1974 to 1983), first as a member of the Labour Party, and then as an Independent. He then served as an Independent Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Falkirk West from 1999 to 2007. The pole was already subject to an enforcement notice issued by Stirling Council earlier this year telling Mr Roddie to take it down. It was served after officials claimed attempts to engage with him over the need for a planning application for the camera pole had failed. The key point is that with palliative care, a good death is entirely possible. No wonder a majority of palliative care doctors and medics are opposed to the legalisation of assisted suicide. For the above reasons, I urge my former colleagues in the Scottish Parliament to vote against the proposed bill. Falkirk Council recognises the outstanding achievements of individuals and groups, and the contributions people make to community life in the Falkirk Council area. We may be able to provide financial assistance for gifts, catering or other costs to local groups or organisations arranging their own event to mark a special occasion.
