In this review, we take a closer look at the Master Line headphone upgrade cable from Lavricables. In general, I believe for most IEMs, an upgraded cable improves the build, convenience and power delivery. The SQ is the where the debate lies. I believe, from my experience, there are few IEMs where cable materials (silver vs. copper) do make noticeable difference. Among my lot, the TOTL Empire Ears Legend X is such an IEM. Impressions on that are coming up later in the review. Unfortunately, the poor behaviour, refusal to listen to opposing views, and dismissive sniping so often exhibited by these two groups can give the term “audiophile” a bad reputation. There’s the rub; who’s to say that those advertising claims aren’t valid science? They are based on real things like skin effect, and certainly, there are many enthusiasts who swear they hear the promised improvements. The companies have the knowledge, tools and equipment to test their designs. Just because something appears too good (or complicated) to be true, doesn’t absolutely mean it isn’t. I bought these cables with my money and on top of that, I don't even know Gu - who makes these cables but I know that he is probably the best IEM cable maker I have tried - and believe me, I have tried a lot including more expensive cables from Moon Audio, Effect Audio, and ALO Audio. You have at least what most consider normal human hearing capabilities. If you are unable to hear certain frequency ranges well then obviously you likely will not hear the changes a cable may make. Additionally, the Reference and Ultimate Line cables are soldered with Mundorf 4% fine silver audio solder. I actually did build some cables with this solder and I find it easier to use compared to WBT’s %4 silver.

structure could be: 0.10mm*19(25awg)*8c [2c/signal:22.5AWG]. if true, and wire material/plugs were better quality, it'd measure about 95mΩ (15-20mΩ less). they inspire me more confidence. artisans use to love their work, and they put effort and care on their creations. that's why i decided to try Gu's cables, and titled this review as "enthusiast craftsman". other kind of "degradation" is internal: attenuation (and may be others) due to resistance of the conductor. all the materials advances look for better conductivity, less resistance: fewer impurities (purity grade), more linear structure (single crystal, occ).. but the impact grade of these advances on signal degradation compared to the difference of price is still questionable, imo.
