About this deal

Reusable nappies have come a long way since terry squares. Poppers, velcro or plastic clips are used instead of pins and they often come as a one-size nappy which will fit for several years. There are a range of colourful and cool designs from brands available too. Reusable nappies are also chemical-free and, long-term, work out cheaper than disposables. The main reason parents decide against disposables and opt for reusable nappies is the environmental impact. Around eight million nappies are thrown into landfill waste each day in the UK, and may take hundreds of years to decompose. On average, switching from disposable to reusable cuts carbon emissions from nappy use by a quarter. No leaks, snug fit, enough frills to avoid “poonami overflow” and perfect for my baby’s sensitive skin.’ I’d say they have always been good for leaking till they got to stage 3, I’d also say these ones seem to be a lot better.

Would you consider changing from your current brand of nappies to Aldi Mamia and why? Yes I would as it is worth the change and price. They are thin so don't take up lots of room in a drawer like some other brands of nappy pants. My son also found them comfy and soft and didn't immediately cry to have them taken off The Mamia nappy brand does everything you need it to do and more. When having a young baby, you go through lots of nappies, so the last thing you need to be worrying about is how much they cost. Aldi Mamia nappies are so much cheaper than most of the others you can buy from other supermarkets. But not only are they cheap, they are good quality, fit baby well and we have had virtually no leaks. They are just as good as the expensive brands, if not better and that is brilliant!

Mamia, Aldi Ultra Dry Air System size 4 at a glance

Loren: Yes definitely as they are such great value and do exactly what you expect them to do. Considering how active my baby is now, they moved well with her body. They were easy to put on and to dispose of. I am not overly keen on the pattern but that wouldn’t put me off buying them again in the future. Would you choose this product above all others on the market? You can resell them or keep them if you’re planning to have more children in the future. And you can buy second-hand. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and some also come with a disposable or a washable liner which you use to collect your baby’s poo. Read more about choosing reusable nappies.

Lidl also sells a premium range which the discount supermarket claims offers advanced comfort, fit and flexibility. These nappies come in sizes one to five. Our Mamia Ultra Dry Size 4 Maxi nappies offer great quality and incredible value for money. Mamia Nappies have a contoured design, are dermatologically tested, hypoallergenic and provide comfort night and day for up to 12 hours.” Tested by mum Katie Roast for the Mother & Baby awards 2018: Amy: This nappy performs well and is reliable which makes life easier when having a baby. It contains even the messiest of nappies meaning no extra clothes are needed. Extra washing is the last thing I need. It looks good and is easy to get on when my child isn’t rolling around like a crocodile. I did find it moved about a lot in comparison to my usual brand but my little one doesn’t like to keep still so that could be the reason.

Tested by mum Megan Hicks  for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Katie: Yes, I already have. I find these nappies a lot softer than other nappies we have used. There were less leakages which means they are more cost effective and comfortable for my baby. They are not very absorbent, but this isn't an issue if you are potty training, only if you are using them in advance of that stage. They are not absorbent enough to use overnight. Absorbency. My toddler is potty trained and dry all day but will sometimes not wake at night to go to the toilet, resulting in an accident. I need something that will allow him to sleep if he does do a wee at night and not leak everywhere. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these nappies so thereabouts nothing I can suggest to improve them. The design, quality, comfort and price are all perfect. As a nursery manager and a mum of two this product is just what I need! Tested by mum Amber Grinker for the M&B Awards 2017: Yes, definitely. I only ever buy pampers when they’re on offer as otherwise they’re just too expensive.
