About this deal

There are two built-in speakers and an auxiliary audio input, so you can turn your garage into a full blown fitness studio, jams and all. Fans Space is the only limiting factor when it comes to these machines. Traditionally wide and boxy, most homes just don’t have the room. Most folks should be able to have this out of the box and functional in 30-60 minutes. If in doubt, have a second person around to help if needed. Warranty

The 6.5 S is a solid treadmill. It doesn’t have many of the upgrades on other machines, but it has a quality frame and feels smooth during use. Incline range Once the treadmill was set up, though, it did take us longer than we would have liked to get it working. After you plug it in and turn it on, the display screen will prompt you to go to iFit.com to activate the treadmill. We pressed all of the buttons to try to bypass this, but while the screen shows this prompt, all of the other buttons are deactivated. A 10% incline max on the 6.5 S offers plenty of training variables. Incline training not only conditions the legs for outdoor hills, it also strengthens the hamstrings to offset quad dominance. It is especially useful for walkers because when you walk at a steep grade, you naturally lengthen your stride and swing your arms for a greater full-body workout. Also, a steeper grade requires more effort, so you can crank up that metabolic output, while still enjoying the low-impact benefits of walking. 20 Pre-programmed workouts This falls on the weaker end of our expected HP scale (2.0-4.0 CHP), but is par for the course for budget treadmills.

Tablet holder- this little shelf gives you a place to put your tablet so you can enjoy it during workouts. If you’re really up for a challenge, you can change the incline levels (up to 10%) which means you can climb those hills and really put some pressure on those other muscles you don’t use with flat running. This treadmill has 12 preset workout programs and 12 running programs to select. A heart rate sensor also helps individuals achieve their goals based on the workouts chosen when using the treadmill. The unit features a soft-drop technology. The technology makes folding the treadmill for storage a breeze. It also eliminates the possibility of damaging the home’s floors when opening it for use.

While the speakers are not very loud, most reviewers confirmed this as only a minor niggle. However, if the inclusion of speakers is a deal-breaker, then this machine is probably not for you. This is pretty standard for quality treadmills, although in this price range, it’s common to see machines with significantly lower weight capacities. This connectivity option also allows the treadmill and device to communicate so you get an accurate reading of the workout stats. For the price, this capability is a nice added touch. iFIT Capabilities Getting this treadmill up and running was relatively straightforward and took me about 2 hours. I did have help carrying it into the room as it was quite heavy and also needed a hand when fitting the easy lift latch. Although it all started with their famous cross country skiers, these days they’ve expanded their product line to include a little bit of everything.

The speed ranges from 0.5 to 10 mph, which is on the slower side considering lots of other machines go up to 12 mph. But if you’re just looking for a basic tread for walking or jogging, this guy was built for you. Included workouts A final option in the mid-price range is this treadmill by AW. It has a low-noise motor and multi-function LCD. While operating, users can scan calories, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. It also has an emergency stop key to prevent users from falling if they lose balance. There are some cons worth mentioning as well. The treadmill only features three incline settings (low, medium, and high). The speeds range from 0 MPH to 8.69 MPH, but some owners complain adjusting speeds takes plenty of time. A couple of complaints about time-consuming set up of the treadmill are also made. Mieres foldable treadmill The speeds are adjustable at .1 MPH, and speeds up to four miles per hour are built-in for users to select. Those who are new to fitness or looking for lower-impact workouts will love this feature. The treadmill belt is 20 inches wide, and it features 18-inch safety handles. It also comes with a five-year warranty on the motor and one-year on the frame.

If you plan on using your treadmill to run, you’ll want one that goes 10 mph or higher with a 48-by-18-inch belt, particularly if you’re taller. It also prides itself on the Easy Assist space-saver design, which I must say, works very well (although was a bit of a pain putting together!).

Performance Comparison

On the LCD display, you can see all key workout metrics like calories, speed, distance etc, and a personal favourite of mine is the 20 workout option- so if you’re looking for variety, you’re not committed to buying into iFit after the free trial ends. Two years on parts is pretty good for a treadmill in this price range and a year on labor is pretty standard for all treadmills. Since the incline is motor-powered, you can only adjust it from the console. However, some onboard workout programs involve the machine’s incline system and automatically adapt the incline, depending on the current workout segment. The rise adjusts in increments of 1%, with a total of 10 incline settings.
