About this deal

As a German I grew up with it and really rather know it as a universal affordable on the go way to freshen up or brave smelly situations during travels. And that purpose it serves very well since generations. Ermolaev, Herman; Edwards, T. R. N. (October 1982). "Review of Three Russian Writers and the Irrational: Zamyatin, Pil'nyak, and Bulgakov by T. Make-up and skincare services, BrowBar benefit, gifting and personalisation workshop, Sephora offers you a whole range of services to come and discover in store Writing a review on 4711 - you must remember to open your eval with the compulsory 4711 mantra "it just don't last :-( - its a shame it don't last" Failure to do so renders your review invalid.

If you were raised in the middle east and ever set foot in a flower distillery, you for sure, know this smell. to me, this perfume straight up smells like neroli water. very nostalgic and soothing. I got introduced to this as a child by my late aunt Mary, who used it all her life mainly to freshen up during long train journeys, which is why we always had a bunch of travel size bottles to toss in our purses. The Mäurer & Wirtz brand owns the formula for 4711, and while they have a number of different colognes ( Acqua Colonia, Nouveau Cologne and Wunderwasser), the one I’m talking about is Original Eau de Cologne. It comes in a bottle adorned with an ornate sea-green and gold label and smells like lemon rinds crushed with herbs of Provence. It is sharp, zesty, with a touch of bitterness and peppery spice. And that’s about it. Original Eau de Cologne, launched in 1792, is apparently the cologne of all colognes - it's the one that started it all. Absolutely beautiful citrusy aromatic scent, which would suit anyone. This fresh scent would never go out of of fashion and would inspire perfumers generations to come.I don’t recall smelling it but I feel like I have already. A friend of mine says there was a craze for it when she was at high school. Very pleasant and quite nostalgic aroma. I think this is more of a floral (lavender/neroli?) smell than a citrus, although the citrus is still noticeable. Almost reminds me of the smell of gin. La Face, Francesco (1960). "Le materie prime per l'acqua di colonia". Relazione al Congresso di Sta. Maria Maggiore (in Italian). Annette Reynolds: Unfortunately, Maja stopped making their beautiful cologne some time ago. It’s full name was: Le Bain Natural Eau de Cologne – Concentrated Cologne. It was, by far, my all-time favorite cologne. I still have the bottle, but of course there’s nothing left in it. Now I refill it with other colognes I find that are similar. Lately I am going through a stage of absolute obsession with the neroli note triggered by the use of several Neroli Nostrum by Lunio decants. This phase has led me to buy a lot of fragrances where this note is the protagonist. And I'm loving them!

Monk, Paul M. S. (May 2004). Physical Chemistry: Understanding Our Chemical World. Wiley. ISBN 978-0-471-49181-1. is a great fragrance for what it does: refreshes after, or in lieu of, a shower with a blast of citrus and floral. I like to splash it on first thing in the morning or on a warm afternoon to freshen up and revive myself. This fragrance reminds me of my late European father. He was a man of simple means and a hard working blue collar worker and this was his go to fragrance. We always had a bottle in the bathroom. The smell reminds me of him. Simple but understated. In the early 18th century, Johann Maria Farina (1685–1766), an Italian living in Cologne, Germany, created a fragrance. He named it Eau de Cologne ("water from Cologne") after his new home. Over the next century, the fragrance became increasingly popular. It is said that Napoleon Bonaparte used eight quarts of cologne every month. If you have similar cologne appetites, then 4711 will make it easy, since it’s one of the least expensive perfumes you can find on the market. It has a citrus standard lasting power, but since it is a fragrance that has a functional role–wake up, uplift, refresh, a couple of hours are plenty for me. 4711 also makes a great cologne bath (fill up a bath and add a few generous splashes of cologne), my favorite way to relax and wind down after a stressful day. Napoleon was definitely onto something.

MPFlorian: I smelled 4711 a few weeks ago in a perfume discount store. I really liked it, and I’m interested to try some of its flankers. In contemporary American English usage, the term "cologne" has become a generic term for perfumes marketed toward men. It also may signify a less concentrated, more affordable, version of a popular perfume. Stiftung Rheinisch-Westfälisches Wirtschaftsarchiv (RWWA), Cologne: Genuine files 1803 u. Mülhens letters May 9, 1802 / June 22, 1819 / June 27, 1819 / October 31, 1824 / January 20, 1826 / February 3, 1826 / January 11, 1827 This isn't a "Hard-projecting" scent, or beast or anything. It's simply there for you to enjoy it for a while, then it fades into the wind, returning every now and then like a soft whisper carried by the wind reminding you that "Hey, I applied 4711 a while ago! Smells nice."
